The styling decisions here are most definitely... a decision.

Where do I even begin? What an absolute masterpiece of a “corporate focus group” aesthetic design that utterly fails on all accounts. It seems that mai would have this vision during sleep after staying up late at an anime convention.

She looks like"Bellhop at a Haunted Hotel" Look😭, There is just nothing but a vibe of “staff members of a cursed motel” about this whole costume. The most terrible piece here is a old Japanese police hat , it is definitely not fancy, it is small and barely held by gravity atop her head.

What Hellish Proportions they all have 😭

Now let's consider the ratio between mai's sleeves and skirt. The baggy, furry sleeves create an impression of being smothered in material, while the skirt and the ridiculous strapped shoes give the impression that the lower half belongs to some entirely different tacky character. There is 0 layering here; it is merely an outrageous combination.

Not to mention the f***ing "Mannequin" Eyes , there is no soul in those eyes. The expression on the face is plastered on in the same way as one would put it on a department store mannequin that has been taught to be "trying to be cute" but does not comprehend human emotion.

Despite being themed after “Lovely Hotel,” it comes off as an attempt to splash some pink Pepto Bismol paint and muted mauve on a doll from ages past in hopes that something will happen and hopefully works fingers crossed . This is not a nurturing color palette; rather, it is the colors of faded plastic. They're trying to make her inoffensive but they made the most offensive it backfired 😭 . Inoffensively offensively bad design.

The need to brand them at the bottom of the image as “HEROINES” is a clear indication that they understand exactly how forgettable they look. It is an attempt to tell us , “Yes, I know you’re not paying attention, this is the heroine!” but the design only screams, “I am nothing more than a background object!”

It’s doesn't look elegant, it’s not alluring, and it’s certainly not "magical." It’s just... a pile of mismatched clothes on a character who looks like she’s perpetually begging for validation.

The "cute" is absent and definitely non-existent. Bc once you get rid of all the marketese and "sweet" aesthetics, you will be able to admit it is a total design disaster.

They have the Uncanny Mask. mai for example has that eerie quality, that lack of life and soul in the face and eyes. That's not cute. She looks extremely generic it disgusts me a lot. This mask looks like an unfinished CGI-model from the 2000s. The smile doesn't go to her eyes, hinting at something sinister and uncanny. There seems to be absolutely nothing going on inside of her.

Not to mention The Tacky Design. None of this apparel is charming or attractive. On the contrary, these are random elements stitched together , an odd hat for that time period (not really sengoku period) , heavy-looking sleeves, and a skirt that looks like felt. This outfit does not represent some clothes of the heroine; rather, it seems like some "starter heroines pack" bought in discount stores.

The "Please Love Me" Aura though is extremely obvious . In lack of character and any kind of self-confidence, all three of them , the attempt to be cute turns out as extremely desperate. It doesn't look natural at all which makes me feel repulsed! She poses in such a way that should be attractive and charming, yet it just appears extremely so artificial. As it seems, the developers hold a indirect sign that reads "ISN'T THIS ADORABLE?" while the picture itself speaks volumes of emptiness and corporate design.

To call these attempt cute, one would have to really strain their imagination , this picture looks more like an exercise in visual mechanics, they probably wanted to reach a particular target regarding color and style, but forgot to check how realistic it was going to be. Or the opposite!

For some reason, they managed to make the MCs resemble workers in completely different haunted hotels. While the emma seems like someone dressed up like a fancy train attendant from inside a vintage doll museum, and the beige tights together with the leg warmers are battling for their life here, the color combination could’ve been chic if it weren’t for the odd proportions and layering,it looks so cringe 😭

Meanwhile, kate seems like she wants to appear like a gothic villainess combined with a magician’s assistant at a community theatre 💀 The combination of too much purple and asymmetry with a miniature hat doesn’t really work.Not to mention the cocktail dress trying to appear victorian like it's mixed up mashup of two different time periods 😭

However, the typography and vintage style of the hotel could have been good . The idea behind the "Lovely Hotel" was a meh one to me. The problem lies especially in the characters’ costumes, which somehow gave them an anime convention look at two in the morning. 💀

Especially the purple one seems to have this creepy quality 😭, bc the combination of the eyes, the smile, and the posture somehow make her look creepier rather than attractive. The style tries really hard to create that mysterious and elegant character, but what came out is this kind of plastic and inhuman look. Plus, the clothes seem to clash too much. Srsly trying to make her mysterious and cute as in acceptable to everyone has made her look like neither!

emma has a softer color scheme btw but her posture is weird stiff and her expression looks exaggerated and fake , more like manufactured , while kate… wow 💀 everything about it looks unbalanced. Yes, no wonder why I have a strong bad feeling about it . There are times when an anime illustration fails to have that aesthetic quality that will make the character look charismatic. Srsly kate having highlights while others don't , we're way past that level , idk why the highlights are there but it's not in their place!

That’s the joke here, making the male characters super attractive especially the ones with most fan base , and then they just give the mc “default savior/martyr mannequin syndrome” 😭

They definitely lack some sort of personality in comparison to the classic otome heroines from back then , both story wise and appearance wise😭 There doesn’t seem to be anything that ties the design elements together into an elegant or even charming ensemble. emma’s outfit is particularly bad too , with its fur-lined sleeves, weird silhouette, and tacky huge chunky rose belt, it looks like a department store christmas mannequin. 💀

Neither of these faces is much help either. They both have that overly slicked-up mobile game look in which the personality just does not ring true. Tbh hating their writing and personality makes you hate it even more visually because none of it rings true or comes off as charismatic at all, it looks flaky!

kate in particular seems to have tried too hard for a quirky seductive villainess vibe without really knowing what made that character type alluring. Thus she comes off as more awkward cosplay instead 😭

They don't seem as enchantingly magical as you'd expect from an otome game heroine. In fact, these are more akin to ugly, randomly put-together fashion items than graceful designs. They seem artificial in composition, lacking charm in their appearance.

I particularly think that emma is trying way too hard to pull off cute and elegant, while Kate trying to look seductive villain while failing spectacularly its color scheme and proportions look so wrong for that. kate just seems too out there with its styling 💀

Unfortunately mcs aren't used to be much more memorable and charming before, as bland or forgettable. It almost feels like these were made to fit into decorative NPCs rather than MCs.

The sweetness doesn't feel genuine to me. The MCs are intentionally designed to be sweet and cute instead of giving them any kind of real depth or making them seem alive and well-developed.

The overly sanitized version of the ideal MC in an cybird game especially makes them soft, pure, agreeable, emotionally nurturing, innocent, "kind to all people," inoffensive, safe to everyone to try to relate to but failing hard again, artificially lovable on purpose, and so on but when the formula is used too much, it becomes fake. In this way, it is almost like looking at a mascot instead of a person, they look like they're trying too hard, it doesn't look genuine or flowing 💀

It's especially apparent in their expressions and body language. Their smiles aren't genuine; instead, their expressions seem like, "Please like them." Their pose is not filled with confidence, mystery, charisma, or anything else unique about themselves or natural at all that gives them personality or makes them seem interesting.

For that reason, more emotional characters stand out.That’s why stronger characters or more emotionally layered tend to stand out ,they feel like they have an inner fire, not just “designed niceness.”

You can almost hear the boardroom meeting saying"Make sure they're soft, make sure they're saccharine, make sure they don't offend anyone, and for the love of god, keep their expression blank so she doesn't distract from the love interests."

It’s almost like they’re trolling the audience at this point

Its ok to post criticisms about suitors in their tags.

I dont care who your favorite or most hated suitor is, anyone can like any of the characters that they like. At the same time people can post critisms and opinions (not genuine hate to people who like the character) about said characters in the tags as well. I have never been bothered by people disliking the suitors I like b/c everyones different and they are fictional characters. I dont need to have “negative” posts be hidden from me cause I just dont care… im 26 yrs old, I have more important things to worry about. Iv seen so many people dislike jude. He is my favorite… and yall got every right to dislike him cause I do to sometimes. Iv criticized darius in a joking manner before but I have no issue with anyone liking him. If you get that distressed over seeing someone criticize a fictional character, idk what to tell you. Im not talking about outright calling fans insults. Iv never actually seen any of that in this community. So far everyone has been chill regardless of their preferences.

I dont want a watered down moderated community where eveything is sunshine and rainbows. These games feature violence, death and sexual content of all kinds, idk how yall can handle that but not “negative” posts.

aka: “Stop Calling Her Kind When She’s Just Controlling”

(nokto sequel and azel route spoilers)

Let’s get one thing straight:

Emma (Belle) isn’t some kindhearted saint. She’s self-righteous, reckless, and repeatedly endangers herself and the princes under the guise of “helping.”

And before anyone jumps in with "But she means well!"

Intent ≠ Impact.

Here’s just a couple of the many receipts:

🎨 1. THE AUCTION SABOTAGE (Nokto’s Sequel)

What went down:

Nokto and Silvio had everything under control. They’d already replaced the paintings with fakes to catch the culprit. They had a plan. They had protection in place.

Fake paintings. Surveillance. Guards. A whole plan.

But Emma?

She sees the culprit entering the storage room and decides to confront them alone. No weapon. No plan. No backup. Not even a warning to Nokto or Silvio.

· Sees the culprit enter storage.

· Doesn’t tell anyone.

· Confronts them alone. Unarmed. No plan.

Result? She nearly gets hurt, Nokto sees her in danger, and he literally goes pale and panics — a trauma response she doesn’t even acknowledge. When he tells her not to do it again, she argues.She valued her savior complex over his mental well-being.

Consequences:

· She almost gets hurt.

· Nokto sees her in danger, goes pale, and has a panic attack (a trauma response she completely disregards).

· He tells her not to intervene next time—a completely reasonable boundary.

· She ignores him, stubbornly insisting she did the right thing.

Why it’s toxic:

This isn’t courage. This is main character syndrome. She inserted herself into a situation she knew nothing about, undermining Nokto’s agency and planning, and then acted like she was the victim of his “overprotectiveness.”

👉 This isn’t bravery. It’s narcissistic recklessness. She undermined his strategy and made his trauma about her need to feel like a hero.

She didn’t trust him. She didn’t respect his strategy. She wanted to be the hero—even if it meant risking everything he’d carefully built.

⛪️ 2. THE TEMPLE INCIDENT (Azel’s Route, Ch. 8-9 I think)

Azel — who has a known trauma response to blood — asks Emma to heal a worshipper. When he walks away, pale and shaken, to regulate himself…

So What happened (I repeat):

Azel asks Emma to heal an injured worshipper. But then—he walks away. He’s pale. Shaken. It’s clear he’s triggered (blood =clearly a trauma for him).

Instead of respecting that?

Emma chases after him, physically blocks his path with her arms raised, and demands to know why he left—as if he owes her an explanation.

Let’s be clear:

A man was actively triggered and trying to ground himself. She decided her confusion mattered more than his boundaries.

She made it about her confusion.

She raised her arms like he was the problem.

This isn’t empathy. This is emotional violence.

Why it’s toxic:

· She witnessed clear signs of distress and made it about her confusion.

· She violated his emotional and physical space while he was actively trying to regulate himself.

· She assumed she knew what was best instead of trusting that he knew his own limits.

👉 This isn’t empathy. This is emotional trespassing. Azel didn’t need her savior complex—he needed space. And she couldn’t even give him that !

👁 THE REAL PATTERN: SELFISHNESS DISGUISED AS SELFLESSNESS

Emma doesn’t help others — she feeds her own ego. she doesn’t help people for them—she helps people to feel needed. To feel like the heroine of her own fairytale. Even when the “princes” explicitly say:

“Don’t intervene.”

“I need space.”

“Let me handle this.”

Instead:

She doesn’t listen.

Because:

· She needs to feel needed.

· She needs to be the heroine.

· She needs to believe she’s “pure-hearted” even when her actions are invasive and harmful.

She’s not brave. She’s reckless.

She’s not kind. She’s controlling.

She’s not healing anyone—she’s re-traumatizing them for her own narrative benefit.

She’s not compassionate. She’s controlling.

She’s not selfless. She’s self-aggrandizing.

She’s not healing anyone — she’s retraumatizing them.

💬 WHY FANDOM SEETHES AND FIND HER IRRITATING AND ANNOYING:

“She’s the person who ‘helps’ you move but breaks your valuables—then cries when you get upset.”

“Emma doesn’t see the princes as people. She sees them as projects. As mirrors. As props.”

“I don’t hate her because she’s flawed. I hate her because her flaws are romanticized by cybird's unrealistic narrative”

⚠️ WHY THIS IS TOXIC (AND NOT JUST A FLAW)

Cybird frames her behavior as virtuous.

The princes reward her with romance.

The narrative refuses to call her out.refuses to hold her accountable.

That’s the real damage.

It teaches players:

· That love means ignoring boundaries

· That “kindness” means never listening

· That being “pure-hearted” excuses causing harm

But real kindness respects boundaries

Real empathy doesn’t need the spotlight.

✅ HOW IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN WRITTEN

Another emotionally intelligent MC would:

· Trust the princes’ plans (Nokto/Silvio’s painting trap)

· Respect clear boundaries (Azel walking away = “I need a moment”)

· Communicate (“Nokto, the culprit is in the storage—what’s the plan?”)

· Prioritize safety over saviorism

But Emma doesn’t. Because her character isn’t written to grow—she’s written to be right even though she's usually wrong!

FINAL VERDICT:

Emma’s “heroism” is a narrative device that rewards selfishness, punishes boundaries, and turns trauma into romantic set dressing. We see you, Cybird. And we’re not buying it.

Emma isn’t pure. She’s performative.

Emma isn’t brave. She’s reckless.

She isn’t kind. She’s controlling.

She isn’t selfless. She’s selfish.

She isn’t healing the princes — she’s retraumatizing them.

She isn’t healing anyone — she’s making their trauma about her.

And we see right through it.

Reblog if you’re tired of her “heroism” being romanticized.

This is just a droplet in the ocean , Emma has done worse.

Game story calling Emma pure-hearted is just an excuse the narrative uses so she never had to take accountability for running back to an abuser or letting people walk all over her.it’s an absolute refusal to develop a spine.the ultimate act of self betrayal ,or maybe Cybird just use her as sacrificial lamb for dramatic stakes and emotional writing since I've read better stories!

A person can be kind and pure-hearted and also absolutely kick ass, be smart schemer, physically strong, stand up for themselves and see through the lies of others and whatnot. And while Emma does have moments where she's a badass, writers still insist on her on being naive, inexperienced, slow and clumsy. I've noticed this is often for the sake of romance with love interests. such as Emma clumsily tripping and male lead catches her, creating a romantic tension or Emma naively putting herself in danger and male interest coming to her rescue. sure, romantic tension is great but clearly no one enjoys repetitive themes that's justified by the MC being too dumb, too clumsy, too naive.

Another thing I noticed is that writers sometimes purposely make Emma ask naive questions so they can explain more to us. for an example: "the peace treaty Obsidian signed isn't trustworthy." "Oh so they still possess threat to us?" yes. yes, when a peace treaty is not trustworthy, it means there is no guaranteed peace, hence the threat is still here. we know this but for some reason, Emma still asks the second question, which writers use to widen their explanation, which is sometimes unnecessary and can come across as annoying. like, you can trust your readers to put two and two together, you know? no need to make the main character purposely naive just for this.

HOT TAKE:

there’s an unspoken authority that anti-shifters feel the need to bestow upon themselves. when they stumble upon any shifting related post, they seem to be an expert in so many fields that it’s a miracle they even have time to scroll online at all! they’re qualified psychologists, neuroscientists, oneirologists, theologists, quantum physicists… they even perform foolproof telepathic polygraph examinations on random shifters on social media! and because of this, inexperienced shifters’ doubt is, naturally, amplified.

with all the love in my heart, i think it’s important to tell you that anti-shifters are… kind of stupid? and not because they don’t believe in shifting. it’s not lost on me how the idea of shifting sounds. i get it. but rather because any attempt at a conversation with them turns into a game of diagnostic whack-a-mole. but if you ask them to define any of the terms they’re so generously bestowing upon you, they disappear !! why place more trust in someone with semantic vomit dripping down their chin than someone who has researched shifting, gained an understanding of it, and pursued the practice? shifters’ negative reputation is only a result of a gross misuse of terms nobody can even bother to google the meaning of !! my concern lies not in an anti’s missed opportunity or a longing to be believed, but rather in the effect their words have on shifters’ self concept. because yes, it is so obvious that nothing they’re saying is true, and that they know virtually nothing about what they’re talking about. but when they’re constantly harassing shifters and trying to force their shortsighted, ill-informed beliefs on them, eventually, it’s going to take a toll. so while this will undeniably be the most common sense, mind-numbingly obvious post i’ve ever made, and perhaps it'll seem a little hostile towards antis, let’s put this to bed once and for all.

i think the most important realization to come to during your "journey", is that manifesting and shifting have never been about obtaining that said desired reality. they have always been about the version of YOU who is in that desired reality. and that truly, this is all the knowledge and realization you need.

i remember hearing: "it's not the thing you want, it's the feeling that thing provides that you want," and at first i was like nahhh that's bs, it's definitely the THING that i'm trying to get. but then i realized just a couple days ago, it is in fact the version of myself that i'm being that i care about, more so than for the desire itself. in conclusion: giving myself the feeling, because that's what i was after.

you wouldn't want something if it didn't make you feel a certain way. if it didn't make you KNOW you are an identity that makes you feel good. why would you want something if it doesn't make you feel anything?

that's where the self concept comes in. would the version of you who has their sp be thinking "i have to do more - more subs, more affirming, more visualizing"? no. what would there truly be needed to do if your sp was texting you the most lovesick paragraphs right now? you wouldn't even NEED any techniques, you wouldn't see the point in them. you'd see a subliminal or a video titled: "GET YOUR SP IN 10 MINS" and scoff as you scroll past. you'd feel satisfied, you'd feel chosen, loved, fulfilled. you'd feel like a conquerer, you'd feel like this shit is so easy. you'd think "i did it, of course i did".

physical appearance changes - same thing. if you've decided you have blue eyes for example, then you are now being the version of you who has blue eyes naturally (or artificially, idk what u want lmfao). would the version of you who has blue eyes be looking in the mirror and feeling upset? would they be looping subliminals and robotic affirmations until their brain is fried for hours? absolutely not. you'd feel fulfilled, like whatever you did worked. you'd think "ah, it's done. my eyes are in fact blue now," you'd probably talk about how much you love your eyes. you'd say you won the genetic lottery. you'd think of yourself as the person with the prettiest eyes to ever exist. you'd think of yourself entirely as a beautiful person. you'd be confident and authentic and unafraid.

ask yourself multiple times a day: how would the version of me who has xyz, think about this? the second you're about to do another technique, the second you're about to click on another video or reddit, tiktok, tumblr post, ask yourself this question immediately. you may not get an answer immediately, but you will. give yourself time, the thoughts and feelings will be added onto you. in a sense it's kind of like roleplay or acting, but the thing is your brain doesn't know that it is. that's why it becomes real. have you seen people say an actor isn't acting anymore? that's because some of them literally become their characters.

the more you think and behave as the version of you who has that thing, you become that. you don't need to see it outside of you anymore. and if reality gives you who you're being, put two and two together and you get your desired reality. you have nothing to lose by just giving that knowing/feeling of your desire to yourself right now.
