Lemme tell a story about this gem of a book Ok so a couple of months ago my best friend in the whole world in-ap-pro-pri-ate bought me this book because she new I’d enjoy it (I love supporting black businesses and natural hair all in one) So I have this book in my room and my niece just turned 6 and she’s in that phase in which she reads everything, street signs, cereal boxes, everything. So she picks this book up and just lights right up. “Krissy look her hair’s like mine! LOOK LOOK!” and she carries the little book around all day, so of course I let her keep it. Now at the time I had my hair in a protective style, so when I took my hair down like 2 weeks later I had pretty much forgotten about it. So when my niece came back to my house it took me a second to understand why she was so excited about my hair then she says “Krissy, your hair looks like the girl’s in the book and mine too!” So I let her play in my hair and she talked, and talked, about pretty it was and hers was just like it, and that’s why books like this are so VERY important. I wish I woul have loved my hair as much as she does at 6 or even 12 years old.
