So, I just wanted to reblog this and add: I’m planning on downloading all the ebooks posted here, and I was wondering if anyone would like for me to start something like this back up where they could read all these but ALSO submit their OWN writings and works for other witches to read? It would be sort of a mini project, and I’d have to hold it on another site obviously, but would anyone be interesting in something like this? I won’t download all the books or anything if no one is interested in the idea but if you are I’d be happy to put the time into something people would actually like and enjoy. Please reblog to let me know, if I get 50 I’ll start working on it right away.

I don’t even think that’s being cynical, it’s just plain factual.

I feel the same way about “spells” that instruct you to light a candle, think really hard about what you want, and recite a poem that was clearly dashed off in 5 minutes by whoever posted it. Without some kind of supernatural interaction - energy, spirits, deities - what actually makes it a spell? It’s just wishing with more steps.

Your argument has a tinge of ableism and superiority complex that needs to be removed. 

No, it doesn’t. Magick isn’t just sitting around wishing for stuff. There’s nothing ableist about that, get over it.

I don’t see anything wrong with my phrasing. Imo, it’s way more ableist to associate being disabled with not being able to put in any effort. That’s kind of a shitty way to think.

 Exactly. I’m low income and disabled and putting effort into it-which wasn’t even hard work it’s just following the damn steps from beginning to end-actually worked, and I say this as a person who does their best to buy supplies for less, goes to thrift stores, and so on. This crap about how we don’t need standards Because Think Of The Disabled is condescending as hell.

I don’t know why it’s so hard to explain to people that associating no-effort-no-substance magick with the disabled is offensive as hell When im in a bad depressive spiral and can’t do magick….. I don’t say that laying in bed and looking at tumblr posts still counts as magick. I can’t do magick that day. That’s it. I’m not suddenly Invalid. I switch to doing divination or smaller experiments that I can actually handle that day that, spoiler alert, still count as magick even though they’re low impact because low impact =/= no effort whatsoever.
