here are some things that were in progress when i stopped making space hop. 

1st image: because i probably wont use this concept again if i reboot the story, i had intended to eventually reveal that malvin, slims childhood friend, was a space hopper as well. to the right of him you can see the hopper i designed to be his co-hop named cael. and to the left you can see gemini electric, who is somewhat of a famous hopper in this universe, and one that yerin in particular looked up to as a child. she only appeared as a cameo once in the story, as an autographed photo in the token booth window at the galacticade. 

anyway, she’s there because i toyed with the idea of having her be on the same team as malvin and cael, or for them to be her apprentices of some sort. as you can see, they all are wearing a green stripe of makeup under their eyes, which signifies their team. i think i had talked about this concept a bit in the comic but not explicitly stated that eye makeup is used to identify teams of space hoppers.

3rd image: this is just a doodle page i liked.

4th image: in episode 6, the story was going to switch gears to follow a different protagonist for one episode. this is sophie, she’s jeff’s niece. after looking after jeff’s cafe and his daughter chammie while he is searching for the missing linus, sophie decides to close down the cafe to help jeff search. sophie uses a cool sword that looks like a jousting sabre with these rings around it... i dont have any pics of it that aren’t poorly drawn anyway, but you might recognize it from episode 5.

thankyou so much. ive been trying to think of a way to archive the whole thing even though it did not get very far into the story. for now, i think you can use the wayback machine to view the comic. the last update was on 5/24/2019 , so if you view it on or just after that date, you’ll be able to see it in its entirety.

i will say that if this story ever returns, it will be in a heavily rebooted form, but i think its gonna be cool. the time i spent making it was one of the happiest times in my life! thanks for the kind words!

Hi everyone. As you've probably noticed, the rewards tiers have been pretty barren as of late. My life has shifted to revolve entirely around applying for jobs that will pay my bills, so in building my portfolio and trying to stay sane, as well as growing concerned about the quality of the comic, I am going to officially declare Space Hop on a more permanent break. I imagine if I ever continue the story, it will be in a completely rebooted form that will allow me to not feel bogged down by the low quality of the first half of the story.

Due to and in addition to this, the patreon is going to be converted to a place where you can pledge a dollar or two if you'd like to support me in a small way, but I cannot garuntee any rewards or extra content other than my regular public art.

My main reason for dialing back the patreon is for the sole purpose of not making enough money to be able to pay the attention to it that is deserved, so if you choose to continue pledging any amount, I'll be so beyond thankful. That being said, deleting you pledge now would be totally understandable, and I'll take no offense to that. Thankyou so much for your continued generosity. The patreon has helped me be able to eat or make rent by a slim margin even with the small sum it supplies me with monthly. Even if you choose to stop pledging, I'll be forever grateful for your past support.

As for the group discord, feel free to continue using it as a place to hang out, though I cannot garuntee it wont become very sparse in terms of input from me.

My desperate hope is that one day when I find stability I'll be able to continue this project that means the world to me in some shape or form, and maybe even start some sort of crowdfunding effort once again. But for now, I can only give my sincere thanks to each one of you.

I will keep the comic site up as long as I can, but the cost of that might prove too much over time. Thankyou for reading and enjoying one of the most fulfilling creative endeavors I've ever made; it was that way because you all shared it with me.
