Things I have learned about prostate orgasms this morning
I was doing a bit of research (for fic, obviously). This reddit thread is an excellent resource, but not the only one.
For prostate only stimulation, orgasms tend to be dry, but not always.
Multiple orgasms are possible and there is no refractory period if there is no ejaculation.
Prostate milking and prostate orgasms are not the same thing. With prostate milking, the penis tends to be flaccid and fluid comes out without an orgasm.
Combined penis stimulation and prostate stimulation results in a normal, but usually much more intense orgasm with ejaculation.
You can massage the prostate externally and achieve orgasm, but it’s more difficult as it requires a lot of pressure on the perianal region.
It can take practice to “learn” to have prostate orgasms. Sometimes it takes an hour, sometimes it takes 5 minutes. Reported times vary a lot!
There tends to be a substantial, long-lasting afterglow post-prostate orgasm(s), especially after a long session. This is contrasted with “normal” orgasms, where after ejaculation, any sexual interest goes to zero.
Most people seem find it very enjoyable, but were initially very hesitant to try it.
The feeling of the orgasm itself is different from an orgasm from penis-only stimulation.
People seem to prefer finishing off a session with ejaculation. After extended prostate stimulation, there is usually a lot of ejaculate in the final orgasm. I quote, from the link at the start of this post, “Get ready to clean up, because the amount of cum that will come out is unbelievable.“
Experiences vary a lot from person to person. Some people have prostate orgasms easily, some don’t. Some ejaculate every time, and some never ejaculate at all. Intensity of feelings varies. Time taken to achieve orgasm varies. Some never succeed in having orgasms purely through prostate stimulation.
This has been a PSA.
I feel I have learned things today. Learning is good. I like learning.
Other things to consider (might be useful for writers. Or if you’re up to some exploring!). I’m no prostate expert, and I might be wrong about some stuff, but here I go:
Some people find that too direct stimuli can be too much. Some people don’t. So pressure and directness can vary from people to people. It might take a learning curve.
Self-stimuli with fingers alone can be hard for some people since it’s might be hard for them to reach back (especially when they have to maintain that position for a while). Toys can make things much easier in that aspect.
Not everybody can come from prostate massage alone. Some people can learn to, in time. That’s fine.
There’s more volume to come when prostate stimuli is involved because the prostate produces part of the fluid that makes the ejaculate. It builds up during arousal, so when there’s a sustained stimuli to it, it tends to produces more and more fluid. Hence, the increased volume.
It’s hard to have prostate orgasm during anal sex. It can happen, but it isn’t a common occurrence, and there’s nothing wrong with that not happening. Sometimes the pressure isn’t enough, sometimes the angle isn’t enough, sometimes it just doesn’t last long enough. There might be a range of reasons on why, and there’s a reason why prostate massage is a thing.
Some people report ghost sensations inside their penis while being stimulated (like there’s someone touching the inside of their penis).
The prostate is located toward the front of the body. Not back (and that’s super common mistake). Here’s a picture where it’s located.
Hygiene is a must. If you’re doing an enema, keep the equipment clean (and only use water, for god’s sake). If you’re using a toy, keep them clean. It isn’t for the obvious grossness; badly cleaned equipment my grow bacteria. Keep stuff clean to avoid unwanted infections.
And for the love of God, just but water when doing enemas.
If using toys, be mindful of the materials. Porous materials are a no-no (see topic above).
Also be careful with the lube used: oil-based lubes tend to be no good for sex toys. Silicon based are good, if the toy is of hard material (hard plastic, for example). Water based lubes are always the best choice, but they tend to dry up faster, which means that a long session might need some reapplying lube as needed.
I think… That’s all…?
To add from personal experience:
Go slow. Slooooow. And have your partner tell you when to proceed.
There are two rings of constricting muscles to get past, you’ll feel them as you go
Use phthalate-free, 100% silicone/glass/non-porous wood toys. Cheap jelly dildos can leach chemicals and cause serious skin irritation and burning. There are tons of sex-positive toy reviewers out there, but I recommend the Redhead Bedhead blog. Better toys are more expensive, but it’s worth the cost to get a safe one.
Make sure you clean toys thoroughly afterwards. Soap and water is fine, but most toy shops sell antibacterial cleaner that’s sex toy friendly.
Water based lube is always the way to go. Get a gel if you can, the runny ones don’t work as well for anal.
Hygiene is great, but you really just have to wait until at least 2 hours after a bowel movement. Enemas aren’t really necessary. Keep in mind it’s gonna be a little messy no matter what you do, so put down a towel if you want.
For the love of all that’s holy, check your nails first. Cut them waaaay down and file down any sharp edges. Because you might have to hook your finger to stimulate the prostate, you don’t want to accidentally scratch your partner.
If you do stimulate the penis at the same time, you don’t have to go at it with the same vigor you usually do. Prostate simulation is VERY intense, so gentle touching and slow blow jobs are the way to go, otherwise they can get overwhelming.
Use gloves if you want. Poo smell sticks around for a while and is hard to get off with normal washing.
Communication is key. Check in, encourage your partner to tell you what to do.
If you go for a strap-on, have your partner get on top so he can control the speed and depth. Also it’s RIDICULOUSLY hot to have a guy ride you.
Even more useful stuff. Thanks for sharing!
