Joanne Camille.
FUNCTION. Host, core
AGE. 21
The primary and most often conscious alter of the system, he is selective mute with a hesitance towards speech. He only speaks to those very close to him, due to trauma he cannot remember. AGE. 8
Olivia and Ambrose are internal twins who both serve their purposes. Abrose is lively and hyper, though his chipper attitude hides memories that Joanne does not recall. Olivia functions as a protector, taking the front and caring for the system if Damien does damage. Both try to keep Damien from doing damage to the vessel.
Joanne was the youngest child and only daughter of Aaida and Noel Boutiette, born in France with older brother Lancelin. Often left with her older brother who was twelve when she was born. Aaida and Noel were working often, leaving Joanne alone with Lancelin often. It wasn't until Lancelin and Joanne were older that the older brother began to abuse his younger sibling.
Though the abuse started as physical hitting, it soon turned into social isolation and limiting who Joanne would interact with. It only got worse when he was high and said his friends could use his younger sibling as they pleased.
Joanne's mental state fractured to hold herself together, disassociating during the abuse and creating alters in order to cope with the abuse.
Unknown to her memory, Joanne's alter had told her parents of the abuse -- to which Aaida and Noel refused to tolerate. They were quick to separate the siblings from any further contact with each other. Lancelin was put through trial for his deeds, and the remaining family relocated to Canada to keep Joanne safe from her brother and escape memories of him.
She was 14 when she came out as transgender to her family, and while her parents took a while to adjust, they wholly accepted their new son. They allowed Joanne to transition on his own time, and that next school year he attended, in a new school due to his parents moving to a new job, presenting as a young man. People regarded him as such with no doubt or question. Though a few boys learned his secret later in the year and began to bully him, calling him slurs and eventually getting physical. It was when they pushed him into an on-coming car that Joanne was hospitalized, and they were expelled and put on trial for attempted manslaughter - later found guilty.
Joanne woke up in the hospital with no memory of past events: amnesia, with little chance of his memories returning. He had no memories tied to school, no memories of his brother, and had to return to life relearning things he had previously known. In this case of amnesia, Joanne took on photography as a hobby due to for the longest time being in a wheelchair and it was fairly easy to do. He turned it into a job, though without much previous training.
