I don't do that anymore

At his words, Wanda fell over dramatically and pretended to be in pain. She clutched at her back and made it obvious she was joking around. “No, I’m not okay at all!”

Bucky would grin and be like “That was quite a performance, never would have guessed you weren’t injured.” He put the plate of cookies down on her desk.

“Yeah I do, but I’m sure I’ll manage and I can just sleep later or sleep during the weekend.”

“Are you sure? Sleep deprivation is just going to make all of your grades worse.”

“Then I should probably tell you that there’s a student badly beat up in one of the training rooms.” Sara had originally planned not to mention the guy that had questioned her strength, in the hopes of not getting the blame for it, which actually it was her fault. “Not that it has anything to do with me.” But however, this was the only way she could see herself getting out of this situation.

“I haven’t seen that student yet, but it does sound like you had something to do with it.” Any reasonable teacher would assume if two students were both injured that they must have fought each other. “I can’t leave you to go check on that student unless you go with me, and I’m sure you would rather not see that student again.”

“No, just my ego.” Wanda smiled sheepishly. “I have a bruise, but nothing that won’t heal within the week.”

“That’s good. I think we all can use some ego bruising occasionally. You’re sure your okay though? Because if you are then I have no one to give these cookies to.”

“History, I haven’t even started because I’ve had so much other stuff to do.”

“Do you have Mr. Rogers? I’m sure he’ll understand if you need an extension. I can talk to you other teachers as well.”

“I’m fine. I’ll sleep tonight, maybe. Depending if I manage to finish this paper or not.”

“Who’s the paper for? I’m sure I can claim that you had extra work for me and that you need an extension so you can get some sleep.”

“Damn.” Steve frowned. “I guess I’ll just have to order cupcakes online from now on then. You - Scariest teacher? No way.” He shook his head. “That’s nice of you, but ultimately, it’s your choice.”

“Can you order cupcakes online? You’d have to use technology for that and we all know you can’t do that.” Bucky laughed. “You’ve seen me in the mornings, it’s not the most pleasant thing. It’ll just depend on when he shows up.”

“I was just saying you look a little tired. You should really consider sleeping sometime soon.” 

“Maybe he fell! He seems like a klutz… people fall all the time.”

“Could be possible. He doesn’t seem all that coordinated in class...”

“Are you on watch – for y’know people out after curfew? Cause I thought I was, but if you are, I can go to bed.”

“No, I was just going for a night time stroll. But if you want I can take over watch for you.”

“No. My question was directed more to the students.”

“I’m almost positive they’re paying attention to you, but that might be a little fear based.”

“Infected?” A laugh passed through the blonde’s lips - constantly holding up the guard that she had placed around herself as soon as the assassin had appeared himself. “I’m sure it’ll be fine - doesn’t even hurt now.” A fake smile beamed on her lips, hopefully making it believable now. She didn’t want to go to the nurse and the worry she was hopefully hiding didn’t want her to be around the male.

“As a teacher I can’t leave you with an injury without making sure that it is taken care of.” While not entirely true, his moral code wouldn’t allow him to leave someone injured. Even if she was out to get him, Bucky wasn’t going to allow her to walk. 

“I knew it!” Steve exclaimed. “Nope, not going to happen, sorry bud.” He added with a shrug. “Well, if he does, you have full right to shoo him away and make him wait.”

“Aww Stevie, I don’t think we can be friends if you don’t.” Bucky took a bite of his cupcake before continuing. “While that would help my reputation as scariest teacher, I might help him this one time.”

“That I can do!” Harleen agreed kneeling down and helping lift the fellow student up right.

Bucky leant down to help on the other student’s side. “Do you honestly have any clue who did this?”

“I’m alright. Did Steve tell you I woke up levitating and landed rather ungracefully on a table?”

“He might have, yeah. You didn’t injure yourself too badly, did you?”

“That’s me! Captain America turned cupcake delivery man.” Steve laughed. “Don’t tell me this friendship is based on cupcakes, this is a one time thing, don’t expect me to bring you cupcakes every day now. Well don’t let that bring you down.” He added, handing a coffee over to his best friend. “If they haven’t shown up it just means that you don’t have to answer the questions.”

“I never knew how to bring it up before...” Bucky looked serious before laughing. “I’m going to expect cupcakes twice a day now.” He took a sip of the coffee. “I hope so, but knowing my luck he’ll show up last thing tonight with 4 hours worth of questions.”
