Nothing? You know, the Grey-faced rat is right. I’m absolutely nothing. I’m the “it’s nothing” they’ll hear at midnight in the darkness of their room. I’m the nothing that taps gently on their bedroom door and the nothing that creeps silently into the room on a cool breeze. I am the nothing that growls in their ear and I’m the nothing that places nightmares in their head. I am the nothing that they look for behind them as they pick up their pace at dusk. I am the nothing that stalks them until this Nothing has deemed their existence wanting and returns them to nothing.
