My favorite thing about love and mercy (besides the actual point of the movie of course) is how Paul Dano actually wears some of the same exact outfits Brian wore during the time. That attention to detail is what really makes this movie that much more enjoyable for me personally. Dano even went as far as directly quoting Brian from pet sounds/smile sessions during scenes of the film.

and for the record? we should not be excusing the symptoms of mental illness and writing them off as acceptable instead of working on them to reach a healthy level of functionality. people with dependency issues should be WORKING on those dependency issues with the ultimate goal of being able to maintain healthy relationships with other people. this site can be such a cesspool of perpetuating negative behaviors and celebrating the symptoms of mental illness instead of trying to treat them like, idk, A CHRONIC ILLNESS.
