Napowrimo: I’m not a fake it to make it person, I feel better being my true self
First of all I must say, I definitely had some enjoyable moments this month, but I’m dropping out of NaPoWriMo for this year. It was hard to find time some days, but more importantly I haven't been as emotionally engaged as I'd like/have been in previous years, where I did successfully complete this challenge. I am hardly inspired poetically and I'm hardly even inspired to read other people's work which seriously depresses me. I normally love reading as much as writing. There is this part of me who knows that it's better to come up with nothing at all than force words that have no emotional connection behind them. It doesn't feel right to do and I will end up hating everything I create because I'll know it's not my best. I can't consciously accept that. So, rather than try to get through the last 10 poems knowing that I feel exhausted, I might as well accept that I completed most of it and just forego the last part, 20 out of 30 isn't bad. I also know that I can do this since I have before, and if I hadn't, I think this would be harder. It's not so bad when you know that it's not that you're incapable period, it's that you're incapable in your current state, and hey, sometimes that happens, it's life. Sure it's a bit disappointing to quit, but it's also not the biggest deal for those reasons, and the fact that there's always next year. Besides it's kind of funny to have gone out on a sexual note lol. Thanks to all who read, see you for the next round in 2020.
