thereâs a certain sense of pride in knowing her sister had gotten better at looking after herself. itâs only natural since sheâs long grown past being a little child. however, as scarce as these moments have become, every now and then yang finds herself cleaning after the other. which is fine, reallyââ  she doesnât mind it at all. so here she is, barging in with rubyâs key to retrieve the cookies ruby had forgotten. it is only halfway through getting the container emptied out that she notices a very pretty, ethereal fox lounging by the living room.
â oh hey, almost didnât see you there. did you know you blend in with the cushions really well ? haha ! oh man, i had no idea rubes has a fox for roommate. hiiii, howâre you ?â  she proceeds to kneel in front of said fox, reaching with her left hand to hopefully pet it. however, it got up and disappeared into the spare bedroom. yang sighed in defeat.
â huh, maybe theyâre not fond of strangers? way to go⌠â
Ahri was many, many years old, centuries old, and thus when she grew to be tired, she would happily laze about anywhere she felt safe. She knew little of her roommate here still, bar that she had a lot of pep in her step, but Ahri didnât feel as though the girl would threaten her life, or act as a form of adversity to her. Plus, with the young woman being so spirited, Ahri often had time to herself to lounge and take up space in their living quarters. Sheâd already made clear her fox form, and happily was herself in that skin when she slept. Today, that was a-- somewhat restless-- nap in their shared living room with incense burning and candles scattered about... at least until she was interrupted by a woman almost hurdling in the door in a rage of golden curls and rambling words. Ahri could talk to her like this, it didnât seem like sheâd mind considering how easily she reached to pet a fox that was a stranger, but Ahri felt more at home conversing with humans in her, well, human state. It put humans more at ease, let her read them better, it evened the playing field. As beautiful as she knew her fox form was, for she did not shy from forms of vanity, she was still an animal. As a woman, she was just as enticing, but in different ways. She had an undeniable allure, and it put her further at ease to use it as her shield. Sheâs lived too many years not to protect herself, no matter how beautiful and sprightly her company might seem.Â
Only a minute or two after padding off in her fox form, she emerged back with her long tresses curly, bouncy, yet tamed, her makeup flawless, and dressed to the nines for staying in with a crimson silk slip, and an airy gossamer robe in shades of soft white tinged ever so slightly with rose. With a cant of her head, the curls shifting, yet not a hair out of place, her painted lips curved into a gentle smile.
âCome now, you didnât think she had a mere fox for a roommate, did you?â She does not think so little of her kin, they are mighty, not mere, but Ahri was playful and flirtatious, and she wants to provoke the thoughts of this woman forward. She wants to learn of her, how she thinks, if anything makes her tick, especially if she was to become a mainstay of her home. âTell me your name, darling, and why you are here, or Iâll have to settle for Goldilocks, and that just wonât do. Anyone trying to eat you up wouldnât last, would they? And itâd be a shame if they tried.â There is not an ounce of threat to her tone, rather it is drenched in sensual curiosity as she moved closer to this new companion, lifting one of those golden locks deftly between her fingers.
