i can’t believe i never noticed this before but i was going back through chapters for edit material and realized something really funny about this moment

brook recognizes sabo’s name and that he’s “the one [luffy] met up with on dressrosa” which means luffy must have talked to them about meeting sabo, and yet brook and nami go on to express surprise at luffy having another brother.

so apparently luffy was just like “DUUDE BROOK, NAMI, CHOPPER!!! GUESS WHO I MET ON DRESSROSA??? SABO!!! I GOT TO SEE SABO AGAIN!!!” ……..and then proceeded to never actually explain who sabo is or his relationship with him. which, quite frankly, i find hilarious and perfectly in character.
