I might have got my expectations too high in these recent chapters.

Excerpt from the interview with Shimazaki Nobunaga on TV Guide A Star vol. 04

—There are a lot of unique characters. Is there any character that particularly piques your interest?

They all have their own charm so it's really hard to decide, but I'd say it's Sakura. He still has some immature sides, but even so, he's facing things straightforwardly in his own flawed way. And Suou has been watching that from up close all along. I'm not the type to completely immerse myself in a role, nor the type to become possessed by one, but I think I might be the type who connects with the character just a little bit when I'm on set. That's why I find Sakura so lovely to watch, and I myself want to see how the future unfolds for him. Also, when Sakura gets embarrassed, I kind of feel like teasing him a little. Suou seems to enjoy it as he watches Sakura looking flustered and embarrassed as well. It's not like he's sneering and looking down at him, but more like he's admiring something precious. Besides, Suou actually tends to slip in subtle follow-ups here and there. He doesn't offer a helping hand in an obvious way, but he will casually share something that makes you realize later on that it was actually necessary information.

—He's by Sakura's side in a different way compared to Akihiko Nirei, who shares a lot of insight for us.

That's true. I get the impression that he enjoys watching Sakura's growth close by, while also appreciating it as something beautiful.

Their upbringing and their experience led to different methods and approaches, but they both thought of Sakura. Suo was not wrong in wanting to respect Sakura's comfort zone. Nirei was not wrong when wanting to step in and help Sakura.

In this case, I would say that they both compromised and took a step back with their approaches. And the result was that they asked Kotoha for help. Kotoha's assistance definitely was not a justification that Nirei was right after all and Suo was completely wrong. It was their compromise.

Suo took a step back and agreed that Sakura needed help not just sleeping over the cold alone. Nirei took a step back and agreed that they could not force their way beyond Sakura’s comfort zone to help him directly.

They asked Kotoha to help for a reason. Kotoha is not their classmate, so she is not someone who is directly under Sakura's command. Sakura wouldn't feel that responsibility of the class rep when it comes to Kotoha. She is the third perspective outside of the class who could provide the input and help that Sakura needed, which none of her classmates would have been able to.

信用して信頼して大事に思ってるんだろ You believe and rely on him, and you care for him a lot

Despite Sakura's early impression of Suo, their relationship is no doubt built on "trust".

Also, I like how Momijikawa used both 信用 and 信頼 here in the original text. While both have the same meaning that "Sakura believes in Suo", the nuance of each word is slightly different. 信用 refers to an objective valuation, the trust is built on past action. 信頼 is more about the subjective valuation based on impression and feelings, the expectation and faith one has in the future action.

Since food has always been a vital theme in WBK I kinda expect that Sakura will feel better after having the curry (and some sense knocked back to him by Sugishita, probably). I'll wait to see how Niisato would work around this theme again with Momijikawa.
