Felix was, admittedly, a mercurial man whether he wanted to be or otherwise– his poor moods could come upon him just as easily as good ones and he abhorred the feeling of both of them if only because he understood that it was often aspects of his Bipolar disorder flaring up that caused his moods more than anything he was doing. His depressions could be so intense and prolonged that he would almost welcome the manic periods that tended to follow; it was rare that he felt particularly even keeled even under the influence of medication and still he’d woken that morning feeling… alright. He wasn’t low and he wasn’t high and that felt like a small victory unlike any he’d had in quite some time. It had bolstered him enough to try his hand at proper socializing– though he’d gotten as far as the library before he’d gotten distracted with a novel he’d been meaning to read for weeks but hadn’t had the energy to start.
Rather than remain in the library he’d checked out the novel and made his way to the beach, shedding his t-shirt when he began to sweat and curling up on a blanket to read. A shadow above him drew his attention after a long while and blue eyes shifted upwards to greet his unexpected guest, Felix offered a rare, genuine smile, “Salut? Am I taking up your space or something? There’s uh, plenty of beach to go around. Unless you needed me for something. In which case: what can I do?”
Sophia had taken on a tan that would likely make her pale Canadian parents shudder. But alas, her natural tones along with the constant time spent on the beach left her to a more glowing tone than she usually had in snowy cities half of the year. As per usual she was making her way to the beach to ignore the every day problems and pretend she was on a weird sort of vacation.
When she saw a familiar face she immediately made her way towards the French accent. “Bonjour.” She hummed, grinning at the other. “You are not. I was actually here to ask if I could join you.” While the beginning of their friendship was a bit rocky, she enjoyed the company of the other and was set on spending more time to show that there truly could be a friendship between the two. “So, you can do one thing and that is share your company with me.”
