Monroe County, Georgia - An animal control officer for the Monroe County animal shelter was fired after he allegedly threw four live puppies into an incinerator. According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, a report indicated the puppies were "presumably alive” when Carlos Santillan allegedly put them in the incinerator on June 18, 2026.

Columbia, South Carolina - The first known PACT Act Conviction has taken place in South Carolina. According to the United States Attorney's Office, Desmond Levon Brown, 29, of Orangeburg, has pleaded guilty to animal crushing, which includes burning, under the Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture Act (PACT Act).The cruelty case is particularly sickening. Brown threw a LIVE puppy into a raging fire, causing the puppy's horrific death.

Hillsborough County, Florida - A 33-year-old Tampa woman is facing multiple charges following her abuse of a Maltese puppy who ultimately died because of her actions. According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Imania Davis was caught on video carrying the puppy by his neck, throwing him to the road, kicking him, hitting him in the head, and throwing him again.
