// So just FYI, the Denton thing is probably not even true. In any case, I apologize for any distress I caused by not tagging it properly, but I am glad that someone approached me about it! This was a great wake up call for me about tagging things, so I want to use this opportunity to personally invite my followers to drop me a line if you want anything tagged, Iām more than happy to do it!
And if itās not too much trouble, still contact me if your triggers are āobviousā ones, because trust me when I say just because itās obvious to most people, doesnāt mean itās obvious to me.

āNo, I mean yes, Iām all right! Iām jusā askinā hypothetically what to do if you were held at gun-point,Ā āan ya canāt call out your Pokemon in case they get shot? So how would ya escape the situation?ā
āI...suppose in a situation like that, you would need to try and reason with them. Obviously they arenāt the most reasonable if they are holding you at gunpoint in the first place, but if you canāt comply with whatever their demands are, try and make them see reason as calmly and firmly as possible, without outright talking down to them.ā
āHowever, despite the danger, I WOULD advise utilizing your Pokemon. They are capable of withstanding more than you and I, and do so on a regular basis in battles. Ideally focus on getting the gun away from your assailant, rather than trying to combat it directly. And whatever action you take, you must do it quickly; hesitation can cost you your life, and your Pokemon a trainer.ā
āPossible⦠Partially. Some memories are locked because of a trauma, or the PokĆ©mon keeps them hidden, and I donāt find ethic forcing them to show them, nor remember them if they donāt want to. And some of them just happened too long ago for them to remember.ā Reading memories was something he still had to improve. Not half as good as he was at healing, at least.
āBut I can try, if Sneasel is okay with it.ā
āOf course he isā Ā Silver replied, taking out a Pokeball and calling out Sneasel.Ā āRight?ā There was little to no hint of uncertainty in Silverās voice, but the Pokemon looked a tad nervous. For a moment, he looked silently between Silver and Lance, seemingly weighing the situation despite his nervousness.Ā
āSneaselā he said definitively at last, nodding up and the dragon master and walking over to him. Silver too watched closely, still quite curious as to how the process worked.Ā
The tall man glared back at the boy. It didnāt take a genius to notice that this one was planning something, probably to return the Rhyperior to its previous owner. Team Rocket already had an history with meddling brats, the agent guessed he had just been lucky to avoid meeting one for that long.
Of course, when Zaltis saw the direction the redheadās speech was taking, - confirming his idea that he was just yet another kid pretending to be a hero - he couldnāt stay idle and wait for the enemy to try anything funny.
The second Silver drew out his Poke Ball, Zaltis quickly analyzed the situation and nudged one of his own Poke Ball off his belt. Sounded like the boy had tried to set a trap for him⦠The second the Ball touched the ground, Zaltisās Arbok came out and quickly wrapped itself around its owner, shielding him from the Sneaselās assault.
The Arbok turned itself around, hissing at the creature that gave it a nasty cut on its tail as it released its owner from its embrace. Zaltis smirked, shaking his head before looking at the kid taking off with his Murkrow.
āSo, you are criticizing my method, but you donāt mind playing dirty yourself, right? To attack someone from behind⦠Isnāt it what they call āhypocrisyā, Mister Hero?ā
He tapped the back of the snakeās head, and pointed at Silver and his flying Pokemon.
āAcid Spray.ā
The poison type promptly executed its masterās orders and began spitting its own venomous bile in the opponentās direction..
The Murkrow dodged the attack, moving Silver out of the way of the acid spray as well, but it was far closer than he would have liked. Ā āIām no heroā he corrected,Ā āand I never said I play fair. People like you just disgust me. Sneasel! Icy Wind, followed by Feint Attack!ā
Sneasel, who had bounced back quickly from the previously intercepted blow, lost no time in continuing the battle. Ā The Pokemon unleashed a powerful icy blast, not at their opponent, but and the ground. Within seconds, the immediate surrounding area was covered in a layer of ice that made ground-based movements far more difficult Ā on the slippery terrain. Sneasel was used to navigating such a field though, and without missing a beat, it moved into executing the second command in a single fluid motion, aiming this time for the Arbok. And of course, still airborne, Silver and Murkrow were unaffected by it.Ā
āā¦A gun.ā She twiddled her thumbs.
āI...is this about a Pokemon battle? Are you alright??!ā
sonsilver
āSay, Silver. Dāya know a way ta beat⦠a gun?ā
āA...gun? Are you talking about a Pokemon move or....an actual GUN?ā

The bluenette snatched the badge out of the redheadās hand before he knew it; it was her possession, and she would be damned if this trainer stole it from her and got away with it. Clearly she did not take kindly to thievesā hell, most of the time she wouldnāt even admit defeatā at least not easily.Ā
Now he was blathering about what seemed like a laundry list of excuses for his actions, but Clair wouldnāt have it. Just as she was about to teach this guy a lesson, her disgust was slightly extinguished by perplexity when Silver mentioned the Masked Man. Clair took a step back in shock.
{~ā ragoness} āWhat do you know about the Masked Man?ā There was still anger in her tone. She wanted answers.
Silver certainly understood her anger; he too would have been too had their positions been reversed. His last statement, however, seemed to surprise her far more than heād anticipated. Of course...that part of the story wasnāt necessarily widely known, why should she know? And an apology was only worth so much; if anything, he certainly owed her an explanation.
āThe Masked Man kidnapped me and several other children many years ago. I was only two at the time, so my memory of my family prior was all but non-existent. For many years, my only realĀ āfamilyā was the partner I had assigned to me, an older girl by the name ofĀ āBlueā. Even that was a complex relationship though, because all other factors aside, we knew saw each otherās faces. I barely knew what my own looked like, considering that we had to wear those masks all the time.ā
āAfter about six years of training under him, I escaped with my partner. Although I was finally able to discard my mask, I came to discover that I had no real identity underneath. The more I learned, the more I became bitter about my captor, so I eventually sought revenge on my own. Of course, to do that, I had to find him first, which was no easy task. I did what I needed to further that goal though, including teaming up with a man called Lance. He was a dragon master much like yourself, and had his own...agenda. But he promised me information on the Masked Manās whereabouts in exchange for the completion of a series of tasks assigned to me. Stealing the badges in particular was something I did upon learning that the Masked Man was going to be at the Pokemon League. I was not anywhere near strong enough to challenge the gyms at the time, but I needed all eight badges to ensure my entry. From there, I slowly learned more about him, and eventually faced him. The events that followed kept me...quite busy for a while, thus my lateness in returning your badge.ā
Silver stopped talking at this point, because although there was a great del more to the story, he wasnāt going to ramble on about irrelevant details to the topic at hand. If she wanted to know more about the information heād discovered regarding the Masked Manās identity and intentions, she could ask. And of course, he could only imagine how little interest she had in the details heād learned of his own past.Ā

The grunts looked between one another. They didnāt normally have to deal with trainers who were so nonchalant about being threatened and outnumbered. Either this kid was stupid or strong. The grunts didnāt want to find out which it was.
Nils, however, had turned his back to the ordeal with the red haired boy. Heād made the mistake of assuming that the grunts could handle things on their own. Judging from the fact that the boy wasnāt already on the ground or running away, the doctor had to conclude that everyone he worked with was useless.
He half turned, staring back at the red head.Ā āTsk, tsk.ā He waved a finger disapprovingly.Ā āIām afraid thatās not⦠how this works, boy. This Pokemon⦠is necessary to further⦠research, and as such⦠will not be leaving anytime⦠soon. You, however, need⦠to be gone.ā Nils grinned wide, for a moment looking somewhat mad. He didnāt seem to care about the well being of the lab or the equipment inside.Ā
Turning back to the tank, he called out to the grunts.Ā āThe first one to⦠put the trainer down will⦠get a promotion. More money, more power.ā Ooh, now there was a decent motivator. The grunts all grinned. Maybe they were willing to find out if this kid was strong, after all.
The grunt with the Raticate made the first move.Ā āRaticate, Hyper Fang the shit outta that Feraligatr!ā The gigantic rodent dashed forward, teeth bared.Ā
It seemed he would have to fight after all. What a bunch of cowards, unwilling to risk their next without the added incentive. Did they have any pride in their work at all? In any case, he was not bluffing, and he fully intended to demonstrate that.Ā
āFeraligatr, Hydro Cannon!ā Ā The move was considered by many to be the āultimateā water move, both due to the great power it unleashed and how few Pokemon were capable of preforming it.Ā The Pokemon obediently opened its mouth and emitted a devastatingly powerful blast of water at the surrounding area, starting with Raticate. Ā By continuously moving the trajectory of the torrent, Feraligatr was able to cover a much wider area, not unlike the technique heād used when taking out a group of Koffing with this move a while back.Ā

Another day, another mission. Zaltis was to bring some kidās unusually strong Rhyperior to his higher ups. Of course, once again, the agent proved that his reputation as the Teamās perfect Capturer was entirely justified.
In a matter of minutes, he had gotten the large creature to willingly let itself be sealed inside one of the Teamās special Poke Balls, and all it had taken was for the man to threaten to have his Arbok choke its owner.
His job done, Zaltis made sure to knock the kid unconscious so that they couldnāt follow him, and he began heading back to the closest of the Teamās stations. He needed to have that big one transferred to Lady Ariana as soon as possible. Then, he would just get ready for his next assignment.
Well, that was how his day was supposed to go, if it wasnāt for that other annoyance that was now stepping into his sight.
āIāve had my share of shitty brats for today. What do you want?ā
Silver was no vigilante, but when it came to Team Rocket, he always seemed to take things a bit more personally. So, when he witnessed such an underhanded theft, he couldnāt help but step in to intervene. He kept out of sight initially, following the man covertly as he quietly explained the plan to his Sneasel. He instructed the Pokemon to stay hidden until he gave the signal, and then useĀ āthiefā on the man himself in hopes of swiping back the stolen Rhyperior (and whatever else the man had on hand, he wasnāt picky).Ā
āEven considering what you are, your tactics are appallingā Silver began, ignoring the less than warm greeting. Ā āTo steal anotherās Pokemon like that....itās something I canāt ignore. Sneasel! Murkrow!ā Despite calling out two names, the boy only tossed forward a single Pokeball. The Pokemon that emerged from it was the latter, and the redhead immediately grabbed onto the birdās leg.Ā
Meanwhile, his other Pokemon had jumped out from a nearby bush right on cue, lunging at the member of Team Rocket from behind. If all went as planned, Sneasel would meet his mark right as Murkrow hoisted the redhead himself into the air.Ā

Several heads had turned at the sudden clang of the grate falling away under Silverās weight. The people, Nils included, had all looked up to see the young man dangling out of the air duct and dropping to the ground below. More than a few murmurs broke out as they watched the intruder suspiciously.Ā
āSomeone, go stop⦠him. I donāt⦠have time for this⦠nonsense.ā The Doctor waved a hand and turned his attention back to his work. The boy struck him as familiar, but⦠eh. He was just in the way; it didnāt really matter whoĀ he was.Ā
More than a few people withdrew Pokeballs and released the creatures inside to get the boy out of the lab. They were all simple Pokemon, really. Koffing, Zubat, a Raticate⦠It was all standard Rocket fare.Ā
āStand down, kid. We donāt wanna hurt yaā. Probably.ā One Rocket called out from behind the Raticate.Ā āThāDoc needs this here Gyarados, see? Just back down nā Raticate wonāt bite yaā in two.ā The Raticate looked pretty excited about the prospect of biting someone, the way it gnashed its teeth.Ā
Silver was almost abnormally calm for one so outnumbered, surveying the Pokemon sent out against him with mostly irritation. OnceĀ āthe docā was mentioned though, his gaze snapped to the man who had given the order to begin with. Only once the Raticate was sent out did he keep his eyes on his opponents instead.Ā
āIām afraid itās not his to play withā he replied cooly, though with a definite bitter edge to his tone. Without taking his eyes off of the others, he sent out his Feraligatr with no more than a flick of his wrist.Ā
āThe equipment in here looks expensive, itād be a shame for it to sustain collateral damage in an unnecessary battle.ā Despite his obvious youth. the boy spoke with a commanding tone befitting someone of an authority he clearly didnāt have in this situation. Silver didnāt even bother pointing out the damage that would come to their Pokemon during such an encounter, having little faith in how much of an impact such a threat would have.
āSo how about this: you return what is mine this instant, and I might leave without shutting this little project of yours down permanently.ā

It came to her surprise when the redhead revealed that he wasnāt here to pursue her risingbadge. Most strangers didnāt pay a visit unless they either requested to partake in some of the training held at the gym, or demanded a badge, in which case they would be kindly escortedĀ out the door by her Gyarados.
{~ā ragoness}Ā āVery well. I wonāt battle you until youāre truly ready.ā The dragoness assumed that perhaps Silver was here to request training with Blackthornās finest regiment of elders before he took her on.Ā
The seemingly casual visit would take a turn for the worse when Silver held out his hand to reveal the familiar shimmer of both onyx and ruby hues. Eyes widened as she stepped closer to examine what he was apparently returning. Outrage ousted bewilderment as her once clear and mystical cerulean irises shot upward at the thief, and a brow furrowed, giving her the overall appeal that screamed āyou better run as fast as your legs can carry youā.
Silver kept his arm outstretched up until and if she took the badge back from him. His silver eyes locked with hers, seemingly undaunted by her change in demeanor. Of course, to say that he was truly unfazed by it would be a lie, but heād expected some degree of backlash. He DID steal it, after all. But he wasnāt going to run away from that...figuratively or literally.Ā
āI stole this several years agoā he continued, managing with a bit of effort to keep his voice level.Ā āDespite not being strong enough to earn it on my own at the time, I needed all eight badges to enter the Pokemon League in pursuit of the Masked Man. You'll have to forgive me for taking so long to return it to you; many things have come up since then.ā
