- adopted at a young age and raised quite happily until age 11 when his parents decided to adopt phaedra, aka the problem child. despite being five years older suffered under her cruel and manipulative streak, which almost completely sabotaged his relationship with their parents and his faith in authority as they sided with her. - left for college the day he turned 18 and never looked back. worked hard, got good grades, got into medical school. all good until phaedra, always intent on being the center of attention, followed in his footsteps. - still managed to graduate with an md as well as a bs in bioengineering and specialized as a cybernetic surgeon. did his residency with a program fitting synthetic limbs to combat veterans before landing a job at a swanky private hospital. - quickly grew bored by the lack of a challenge and the confines of medical litigation. honestly self-sabotaged a little bit, pushing the limits of what they’d let him do until it all came to a head when a malpractice suit was filed against him—the case was settled out of court but he was let go from the hospital. - went into private practice instead—on the black market. found the excitement he was looking for there, and a lot better pay too. quickly established himself as a cybernetic surgeon that’ll do just about anything for the right price and the freedom to poke around your insides. - badly injured one of his hands in a house fire to the point of losing the majority of its function and had it replaced with a synthetic prosthetic. when the mismatch between synthetic and organic hands interfered with his work, he had the other amputated and replaced as well.  - often known as silverhand in black market circles, a nickname he doesn’t encourage considering its completely obvious once you see his hands. claiming synthetic skin is cumbersome and harder to sterilize, he opts to keep his synthetic hands metal, disguising them with black gloves when he’s not operating.
