VERSES.

V1. HADES II / mel's main verse, regarding all aspects of the game in it's current state starting from her first attempt and spanning anything after. this verse is subject to change as more of the game is released. currently it lies as is : her family taken, the house of hades brought low. olympus burns. mel has been raised for one purpose: to slay a titan. pop off princess.

V2. PRE-HADES II / covering any interactions before her first attempt on chronos; her upbringing, training, etc. likely this verse won't see much use.

V3. POST-HADES II / taking place after chronos is defeated by mel's hand and olympus is put back to order. this is a verse based entirely on headcanons for the time being, and may or may not change based on where sgg takes the story. for the time being, it's assumed that upon time's defeat, the crossroads are closed ; shades return, mel does not. it's hidden from her as part of hecate's goodwill to ensure she remains with her actual family. this drives mel to venture out, still, in search of them.

BAREFEET   PUSH   THROUGH   WATER,   slow   in   their   rhythm   back   and   forth.   the   breeze,   ever   moving,   is   almost   taunting   over   the   fact   that   she,   for   now,   is   not.   nails   dig   into   earth   perhaps   a   bit   harsher   than   she   intends,   for   it   is   not   the   reason   she   has   failed.   the   elements   are   all   around   her,   bountiful,   full,   going   on,   but   it   is   the   one   which   has   dimmed   that   the   princess   finds   her   concern   with   —   the   fire   which   is   meant   to   burn   in   her   chest,   lick   at   her   heels   and   urge   her   onwards   with   all   the   rest?   tonight,   she   cannot   seem   to   stoke   it   towards   former   brilliance.   it   seems   she's   not   the   only   one   aware   of   it's   loss.   perhaps   there   are   those   who   look   to   her   like   a   light   upon   the   docks,   who   count   on   her   to   guide   them   home.   no,   not   perhaps.   certainly.   so   then   is   it   so   shocking   that   they,   too,   notice   when   it   has   gone?

her   lips   pull   towards   a   polite   smile   as   she   halts,   a   brief   respite   from   pace   thusfar.   it   is   hardly   welcome,   the   fact   that   she   has   found   herself   in   rare   company   peace's   saving   grace.   it's   been   a   hard   promise   to   uphold:   the   specifics,   at   the   very   least.   the   big   picture,   that   she'll   go   at   it   again,   again,   again   until   it   is   done   is   a   given.   that   she   will   find   him,   however?   he   is   an   ally,   or   so   she   hopes,   that   she   stumbled   upon   by   mere   chance   to   begin   with.   tonight   again.   it   is   fate,   or   whatever   asserts   it's   influence   in   their   place   which   has   brought   her   to   his   side.   she   wishes   it   weren't   this   way.   but   as   she   keeps   a   courteous   distance   the   princess   cannot   say   it   is   something   he   wishes. 

mel   hears   him   out,   response   quick   off   her   tongue   as   it   is   something   she   readily   knows   the   answer   to,   and   something   which   she   wants   to   assure   him   of,   ❝   yes.   i   believe   i   did   say   we   would   see   one   another   again   and   though   i   did   not   swear   it upon anything,   surely   you   understood   my   intent   was   true,   ❞   it   almost   sounds   like   a   question;   of   his   doubt   in   her,   of   something   far   deeper   than   that   —   she   moves   on   quickly,   ❝   and though   i   would   like   to   take   credit   and   say   i   was   seeking   you   out,   i   cannot.   it's   by   mere   chance   i   stand   before   you.   ❞   she   trails,   if   only   a   moment.   she   doesn't   mean   to   badger   him,   it's   simply   that   the   others,   they   come   to   her   in   bright   flashes,   fallen   at   her   feet   like   she   is   more   god   than   they.   him,   however…   she   wonders   why   that   is.
