”…h…hello?” *Lilac was alone in medbay…but had pretty good hearing.* *…the footsteps being squishy set them off. that wasn’t normal, was it???* *what if it was an alien??? or even worse, an imposter??? coming for THEM?!* *…they held the scalpel they’d been cleaning a bit tighter in their hand…* *…just in case.* “…uh…is someone there?…”

meet lilac!!! (lili or lily for short!) their job on the ship was ORIGINALLY as an assistant scientist (they'd done an internship for Mira for college and got reccomended for the mission), but...unfortunately, HQ couldn't find a new engineer in such short notice after the last one quit... ...luckily, lilac's degree has a basis in engineering. plus, they're already ON the mission! they're already getting paid, Mira gets to save money! surely giving the same person two very important jobs on the ship won't be a problem in the long run!...right? EXTRA INFO: -lilac, with their workload and general anxiety, is a very jumpy and introverted person. talking to people with authority over them makes them nervous, and the thought of talking to people who seem unreadable/intimidating (purple and black, for example) makes them squirm. -they're very young, early 20's, and are very VERY new to the entire 'oh my god i'm working for Mira' thing. this is their first REAL job! lets hope it doesn't go off the rails! -they don't have a handbook given to them by Mira or anything, they're just...expected to know everything off the dome. so instead, they have a dumb little notebook that they scribble all their thoughts in (work related or otherwise) -their degree was in biomedical engineering!!! -they worked under blue for their internship at Mira! they're aquaintences in blues eyes, but lilac is always very awkward around them (blue was...very nice. and very understanding when they were stressed. lilac feels as if they owe something to them for their kindness and for helping them get to where they are now) -they're similar to green in the way that they both want to make their mark on the world, but while green wants to be a captain and will happily put in the work to do so, lilac wants to be a head scientist...but isnt sure if they're ever going to be ready to step into the role.

Ok- the main thing I want to ask, how do they get the money for this job? It's specified that greens and tire village had to pull their meager resources in order to get them there, so what got them here?
