It’s been a while since my last post. I also want to give more lore on my drawings so here it goes...
This drawing shows a Corin a bird-like race from my fantasy world, Kiin. More specifically, this is a Volvegian Corin, meaning she lives alongside the Kima (the fox-like people you might’ve seen in my other drawings).
The Kima have a lot of “BDSM worldbuilding” (yes, really!), which shapes how their society functions. In Volvegia (the mountainous region where they live), people are divided into two main groups: Kima, and Pahgro (non-Kima).
Pahgro are further divided into Algro (free people) and Silgro (those who are owned by a Kima, kind of like loyal pets or companions, but sentient and respected in their own way).
I could go on for a long time about this system, but let me talk about the drawing first.
Volvegian Corin usually serve one of two main roles.
Most Algro Corin work as couriers, and they typically wear gear like this:
Box Armbinder: used to improve flight posture and aerodynamics over long distances.
Harness: used to attach cargo, messages, or packages for delivery.
Hood: more specialized. It’s enchanted to enhance mana sight, which helps the wearer navigate the fog that lies between Kima cities. That fog causes illusions and can confuse the mind, so this is essential for long-range travel.
Now, Silgro Corin may also work as couriers, usually to bring extra income for their Kima owners. But if you have a Corin and you’re a Kima, there’s a good chance you practice something we call Corinnry (a fantasy take on falconry). That means you also train and hunt with your Corin companion.
So, for Silgro, you’ll often see extra pieces of gear:
Jesset: used during Corinnry training and activities like hunting or scouting.
Wing Cuffs: these are not necesserly just for Silgro rathe any Corin outside the Aerie (the special districts designed for Corin within Kima cities). They help keep the wings folded and under control.
Corin body language is very expressive and spontaneous, so these cuffs help keep that in check when needed.
That’s a bit about the function of this gear. If you’re interested in more lore, feel free to ask I love talking about it, even if I feel a little awkward sometimes.
Also, English isn’t my first language, so I hope everything was understandable!
