The one person who blessed his birth and who wanted him in this world, now feels actively repulsed by him.

Which, I want to make very clear, is completely fair on her part! Sylus acted like a red flag and an asshole in early LAR, so he made his own bed. Yes, he was in a lot of pain and mental distress, but it does not excuse his behavior at all.

Even so, the above scene still fractures my fragile heart.

But then I remember that this exists

And all is well again

At least until the third myth wrecks my shit all over in a few days (it better do just that or I'll want a refund)

But it does genuinely both break me and heal me how MC – in every lifetime – makes the world a place wherein Sylus feels loved, wanted, needed, and valued. No one else ever did that for him.

Everyone else celebrated his demise, and wanted him gone for good.

MC cursed his death, blessed his (re?)birth, and created a warm, peaceful space for him to exist.

He realized that MC isn't the same bold sorcerous, or powerful mage who summons demons to command them, or the ruthless gladiator fighter who has always challenged him and never feared him no matter how ferocious he may have come off during their first meetings like he's used to.

Yet, she still carries the same flame and spark that he fell in love with and despite not reciprocating his feelings and methods of making her remember him, he persists and instead learns that in this lifetime, he doesn't have to immediately resort to aggression and force with the expectation it's reciprocated. He this time, can give patience and gentleness in his expression in the same way MC gave him previously.

With time, he sees patterns in the way she used to act and observes new patterns she has in this new lifetime and falls for her even more. He learns to take care of her in ways he never had the chance to because they're in a time where they're not immediately in danger by the people who despise them. They both have the power to ward off dangers easier and escape the worries they've previously had, and with that fact in mind, he's able to calm down, take a breath and take his time to be with the person who shares half his soul. He's enjoying experiences never before graced to him by her and appreciating their life with the chaotic, mundane, and everything in between this time around because despite the change, it's still her. It's still them against the world. They still found each other. They still are kindred spirits. Just like they promised.
