AGH! It's soooo ughhh

'cause it's like this:

you are a revenant. you are a predator and humans your prey. you can only ever live by stealing life from them. there is a human, trained in the art of hunting your kind, but instead of attempting to put a blade through it they gently take your heart and carry it with them as if that was where it was always supposed to be. your blood trickles through their veins and the longer this goes on the deeper the wellspring goes. you will always know where they are, always be able to appear at their side no matter where they go, because you are always with them. your heart is literally beating outside of your chest, nestled where they will never see it but can always feel its presence

you are a human. you have been purposely forged into something that brings mortality to that which is supposedly immortal. grafted between your shoulder blades is a device that holds stolen hearts and leeches their power for your own. there is a revenant who, knowing exactly what you are and what you can do, chooses to place their heart in your care anyways as if that were always where it would be safest. you wield them as a weapon and wear them as armor and the longer you do the more snugly they fit. you will never be alone, never be abandoned, because they are always so close that even the specter of death cannot wrest you away from them. there are two pulses thrumming in you and you cannot tell the difference between yours and theirs

and sometimes. sometimes. the two of you draw together until you are layered over one another with no space between. you move as one, fight as one, bleed as one, and from the outside there is no telling that there are two lives occupying the same space. even you do not know exactly where one of you ends and the other begins, not anymore. not like this

smoke masks the alarm pheromones of bees, which effectively keeps them relaxed 🐝

I made these as a way to compile all the geographical vocabulary that I thought was useful and interesting for writers. Some descriptors share categories, and some are simplified, but for the most part everything is in its proper place. Not all the words are as useable as others, and some might take tricky wording to pull off, but I hope these prove useful to all you writers out there!
