I just finished reading the bell jar. I did not relate to it, luckly, my mental health is steady right now.
I don't love Sylvia Plath because she was depressed, I love that she so wanted to be free. This is a feminist book first and foremost.
I'm letting myself be misunderstood so much lately. I keep stopping myself before I start overexplaining everything and thinking "they will percieve me as they want anyway"
it really pisses me off when adults sit there and drill it into kids’ heads that their youth is fleeting and tell them things like “enjoy your childhood while it lasts because this is the best it’s gonna get”. why are you telling children that adulthood is the worst thing they can experience? seriously what the fuck is wrong with you, why are you trying to make them feel like growing up is a fate worse than death? trying to convince them their life is over before it even begins? i’m tired of that shit. because tell my why my 12 year old cousin told me when she turns 30 she’ll be so depressed she’s just gonna cry all the time. what the fuck. kids don’t need to hear that their already stressful and overwhelming lives are never going to get better, that the abuse and lack of autonomy they face is apparently the highlight of their lives. they need to hear about adults who are happy to be alive and happy to have made it to their age. they need to know that growing up rules, it’s a gift and life does not have to suck for them, that they have a future that’s worth sticking around for. this rhetoric is so damaging mentally and i’m about to start hitting the adults who parrot it. i’m sorry you hate your life but you don’t get to dump your issues on these kids. don’t piss me off and leave these babies alone!
The way I have been hunting down other italian blogs should go on my CV (expecially for how many of them, like me, post in english)
I developed a skill of recognizing anything that "looks like my life" and 60% of the time I get that feeling I can find proof that the pictures are actually from Italy and I click follow with a grin

I know that's absolutely not the point of the story but I think if Frakenstein started small with like a lizard or something, and worked up to building a human maybe he'd have consolidated his skills better and there wouldn't have been as many issues...
When someone gives the advice of “don’t be afraid to disappoint your parents” they don’t just mean taking music theory in college or starting a YouTube channel.
It also means wearing things they might not approve of. Using accommodations that they might not think you need. Not falling for their guilt trips. Eating when you’re hungry, not when it suits them and their idea of your weight or health. Making your own friends instead of seeking the stamp of approval from them.
Of course, some parents are stricter than others, and some use abuse to keep you from expressing yourself. But do what you can, even if it seems small.
Otherwise, when your parents are no longer in the picture, you’ll try to find it somewhere else to get validation. A strict boss, an abusive partner, a selfish friend.
Going against your parent’s wishes is developmentally healthy. Not doing so stunts your independence and self-regulation. You shouldn’t be living to constantly please others, even the people who love you.
At some point I randomly remembered that I can curate my following page as I wish and just... stop following people who annoy or upset me. I didn't get on tumblr specifically to get annoyed every single post. I can't avoid that everywhere but maybe if I avoid it in my chosen online space where I come to have fun I can keep that energy for actually useful ways of getting upset.
Tumblr is really trying so hard to ragebait me with all of this "based on your likes" posts. When did I last liked bioessentialist biphobia?? One takes a step to get more at peace and this shit happens

Someone said on tumblr something about identity being like onion layers and if you keep peeling layers to see what's underneath you'll be left with nothing because it was only layers all the way. Or something like that. I keep randomly remembering it when I overthink.
Organizzare i rituali delle feste di laurea degli amici è un LAVORO, un lavoro piacevole ma comunque un lavoro.
i think the crux of human misery stems from the fact that our skeleton just wants to sit around and accumulate dust in an ancient barrow (that is the innate imperative of all skeletal remains in-case you didn’t know) but our meat has its own agenda which creates this fundamental conflict of interests
Yesterday I rewatched To All The Boys I've Loved Before (last time I watched I was 15), and afterwards I looked at a few opinions and reviews online and I saw that so many of them complained about the sequel, so I rewatched it too, and I liked it!! I don't get it, what's wrong with it? Now I need to see the third one, that one I never watched.

I never outgrew my teenage rebellion phase, I just gained autonomy
This songs breaks my heart in every possible way, I can't even listen to it another time, I don't know if I'll ever listen back to it ever again, but I still need to share it. Olivia you nailed it.
Btw I have such a parasocial relatioship with Olivia Rodrigo because she is just one year older than me and, for her whole carrier, by the time her songs came out I had just reached the age she had when she wrote them and she is always been so relatable to me. When I was 17 I used to listen to brutal during every emotional breakdown and anxiety attack because I related to every single word.
I am not relating as much to her last album, but she is still so good.
Here you are a pic of me at her concert last year
