As soon as Luke spoke about her father, Emily remained silent for a moment. Even after all this time, she had jet to learn how to deal with these kind of situations.
She frowned for a moment, but decided against her intuition to come to his defence.
“Yeah me too”, she mumbled.
As soon as they walked downstairs along the gloomy corridor, a cold breeze hit them. Emily was quite glad that she was sorted into Gryffindor, rather than Slytherin. Of course she had to walk a fair bit until she reached her common room, but at least the temperature was bearable.
The young witch offered Luke a smile before she opened the door to the potions classroom. Most of the seats had been taken already. Except for the front seat on the left side of the room. Of course no one wanted to sit that close to the teachers table. Especially if said teacher was Severus Snape.
“Bloody hell”, she mumbled rather annoyed. “Do you wanna sit with me ?”, she asked the boy beside her.
Luke had no idea that Snap was Emily’s father. That’s why he used to make some of thse jokes every now and then. He didn’t mean harm at all, neither did he had anything against the professor. It aws just his attitude that was annoying at times. He was a gerat teacher, just difficult to handle.
The rest of the walk was rather quiet. Luke had to admit that he appeared a little nervous around Emily, especially since his feelings had developed for her. He had never a problem talking to her, now it seemed rather difficult. Walking along the cold corridors of the dungeons, they soon reached the door to the potions classroom. Taking a look around and noticing that Snape wasn’t there yet, he also noticed the taken seats and the only free left ones in the front. “Though, I feel like there’s not really another option for me, I would like to sit next to you.” he spoke with a smile. “Right in the front where he sees us straigha way,” he grinned, walking inside and up to their seats.
