it’s not always easy to say yes at 5:52am

This picture was too good for me not to share. 

This is Chris Dobens, creator of the Boston Strong T shirt campaign, embracing his girlfriend,Emily Engelhardt, who was injured in last year’s marathon bombing, right before she crosses the finish line. 

“What does better look like in a race? Is it finishing in a higher place? Running a faster time? Beating people that are better than me on paper? Does your answer change if the weather is bad? If others run world leading times? Or if instead, they falter? 

This entire build up has been great. And I don’t mean every workout has been great, but it’s been consistent, it’s been fun, I’ve had more energy through higher mileage, and believe overall I’m in better shape than last year. So, if tomorrow goes poor it’ll be just that - a bad day, not a failed build up. Progress isn’t always black and white. Don’t let perfection be the enemy of progress.”
