August slipped away

The Once-ler meets Hudson Crawfield, who offers to help. He’s got... knowledge about this kind of supernatural stuff.

Don’t worry, that last one was an illusion. Anyway. He didn’t have to get involved— he was just a worker at the hotel.

But he did anyway.

The three of us went through more then just the clown. What lies underneath the foundation of Paradise Pier is a story for another night, though.

We exorcised it, with the help of a friend who is.... gifted.

it wasn’t happy.

We thought it was gone. We had no idea it had latched onto Rett.

There was one more exorcism.

Everything seemed to finally be over.

Hudson became the closest thing I had to a best friend. Bonded by trauma, I guess, because we’re practically opposites in personality. I even offered him a bodyguard position before I got booted from my own company (another story for later).

And now here we are, taking up jobs at a summercamp just to get away from it all.
