❤️🦁🔥🎪TMNT OC: Cara (also some TC backstory involving her)
So if you guys didn’t know (I also didn’t, @solofanatic64 is the one who showed me), during the episode ‘Tale of Tiger Claw’ there’s a picture of a lion woman hanging up on Tiger Claw’s wall
So, what does a totally normal and not obsessive person like me do with this info? Make an OC out of it
Also, I don’t have a design for her but I’ve got an idea in my head. But that’s besides the point bc @solofanatic64 made her in Tomodachi Life and it’s honestly so spot on (even the fucking personality somehow), this is exactly how I imagine her as a human so AMAZING JOB EVERYONE CLAP FOR THEM 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
So now, everyone, meet Cara!! (and strap in guys, this is a long one)
Full Name: Cara (pronounced car-a btw)
Ethnicity: Blasian (half Japanese)
Age: 18 (at death)
Birthday: 26/02
Species: Mutant Southern Lion
Occupation/Affiliation: Fire Breather, whatever circus TC was part of
Gender: Cis Female, she/her
Sexuality: Pansexual
Voice Claim: Tiana, The Princess and the Frog (Anika Noni Rose)
So, we all know Tiger Claw’s backstory. Went through a Kraang portal, got mutated as a child, ended up in the circus, became an assassin. But…*why* did he become an assassin? Let me show off my girlypop’s story to explain that.
Cara has no memory of her origins. She has no clue if she used to be human, or if she’s always been a lion (just a non-mutant one). Maybe she was born this way? Either way, she’s been a mutant for as long as she remembers.
Her earliest memory is being sold to the circus. She has a fire breather act, and people seem to like it…or maybe they just want to point at the freak. Cara was never treated well there, she was a mutant after all. But it was the only home she ever knew. Even if it wasn’t the best, even if she was still treated horribly just for being a mutant, she still had a home with the circus, and they valued her…even if it was more for her entertainment value than the human inside.
Needless to say, she completely empathised with the two terrified mutant kids (teens? maybe? at least in tc's case) she saw that fateful night (so dramatic isn’t it, I’m the writer ever). She knew that they’d be rejected almost anywhere they went, so Cara brought them inside the circus.
Takeshi and Hisayo (Tiger Claw and Alopex if you don’t know) (and Hisayo is my HC name for her) were their names. As a mutant herself, ofc Cara fought for them to be let into the circus. They eventually caved since hey, if this one mutant already got them a lot of attention, why not add 2 more?
As the only 3 mutants in the place, the three of them bonded well. Well enough that Cara and Takeshi ended up dating. She helped them with costumes, their actual circus acts, adjusting to the mutation, anything they needed.
It's a shame that couldn't last forever.
By now, it's been a few years since Takeshi and Hisayo, now going by Tiger Claw (who I will be referring to as TC for the rest of this for convenience sake) and Alopex, have joined. They've got their own acts now too, with TC being a gunman(? idk what else to call it but he shoots stuff with guns) and Alopex using her super speed. Cara and TC have been dating for a while now too. They're both 18, and Alopex is 16. They're all still at the circus, currently, but have been planning to leave. TC and Alopex just want to escape when no one's looking, Cara's unfortunately too nice for that.
Before they plan to meet up and escape, she goes and talks to the ringmaster and thanks him for the food and shelter. He doesn't take their plan to leave very well, though.
TC and Alopex are about to leave, but are concerned because Cara hasn't shown up. Then they hear her scream. Like any good friends they go run to save her and find her with a gun to her head. The ringmaster's got one of TC's guns and is getting ready to threaten the 3 of them into staying since they're his 'three biggest money makers'. He doesn't actually want to kill her, he just needs to make the three of them think that he would.
Of course, TC and Alopex try to save Cara, why wouldn't they? So yeah, a fight happens, the ringmaster shoots at the two of them but intentionally misses. They do manage to get him away from Cara, though.
But then they turn to see a bullet wound through her chest.
In the process of intentionally missing TC and Alopex and defending himself, the ringmaster forgot about Cara. He'd accidentally shot her. He's just as horrified at this as TC and Alopex, but for a different reason of course. They're mourning their friend (and girlfriend in TC's case), he's just upset that he's down one employee.
TC takes advantage of the shock to take the gun and kill the ringmaster. It doesn't change the fact that Cara's dead too.
TC and Alopex leave the circus that night after they bury her and give her the best possible funeral they can with just 2 people. She was loved, even if there were only ever 2 who truly cared for her, but she was loved so much nonetheless. But now she's gone, and now TC and Alopex would never be the same.
Still so full of anger and resentment at a world that had given them nothing but unfair treatment, TC would never admit it to Alopex, but killing that ringmaster felt good. It felt right. He'd just made sure that no one would be hurt by him like he'd hurt TC or Alopex or Cara ever again.
So why not protect more people from the pain? Stop more people who had hurt and would continue to hurt others?
He became an assassin, dragging Alopex with him. At first, he only ever killed bad people (this is some Saw type shit lmao). Alopex never approved, but he was her older brother, she had to stick by him.
As time went on, she watched his morals shift. Eventually he'd just kill anyone he'd been told to, not just 'bad people'. That's when she turned on him, they fought, she took his tail, and they parted ways.
That brings us to the TC and Alopex we know today.
TC adored Cara, and she adored him. But he'd never tell anyone about her and what happened. He's kept those emotions suppressed for years, and he's not willing to open up now. She was his first and only love, and he was hers. Now she's gone, and everything's worse.
Cara was a good person. Too kind and too trusting for her own good, but she loved those around her.
But, if she saw who TC had become...he knows she'd be horrified.
