I wonder how Matt Cordell and Judge Dredd would interact with each other. Both see themselves as judge, jury, and executioner. In addition, both have been affected by corruption; Matt was wrongfully convicted, thrown in prison, and left for dead and Dredd’s corrupted colleagues turned on him. My guess is that they would either have something to relate with or be inclined to kill each other. I doubt Dredd would be too happy about the number of innocent people Matt has killed.

One character I want to see Matt Cordell face off against is the Toxic Avenger. It would make for an interesting fight. Both possess abnormal strength and can take some serious damage. Toxie cannot be harmed by radiation or other toxic materials (I think it heals him) and I think Matt is unable to feel physical pain. If they were ever in the same city, Toxie’s tromatons would probably go haywire and have him forced to seek out Matt to destroy him (it was explained in the first movie that his tromatons pinpoint him to evil people and command him to kill them).

Imagine how silly a Maniac Cop vs Leprechaun movie would be. Matt would be 100% done with this shit before the fight would even begin. He would toss the Leprechaun around like a ragdoll, but the Leprechaun’s magic should be taken into account. He could be a formidable foe, but then again he got his ass kicked by Jennifer Aniston, a Jim Carey/Kevin Bacon hybrid, Francis Buxton from Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure, and some kid.

I don’t think Matt Cordell, Candyman, Angela Baker or Pumpkinhead get enough love. Or at least, I don’t hear/see their names pop up as frequently as the unholy trinity, Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, and Freddy Krueger.

What is an aspect of your muse’s canon material or canon existence that you never had the opportunity to explore but really want to?

Possibly more of what Matt was like when he was human. The sources the audience are given are limited: second hand accounts and the flashback leading up to his murder. I’d like to explore who Matt Cordell was before the became the Maniac Cop. Maybe his life before he went into the police academy, during training and after he became an officer. It’d be interesting to speculate on the aspects that led him down the road to death and destruction, as well as why there’s still some sparks of humanity in him.

Matt Cordell from Maniac Cop 1, 2 and 3, a B-list horror franchise that only really picks ups at the 2nd entry! Can’t really recommend watching it, but it has its moments. Just a quick and sweet evolution of a horror villain I felt like doing for now.
