knowing they're only putting Obsidian on a Fallout sequel because of the Fallout show's success is the MOST monkey's paw ass way this could've happened

like yeah we all wanted another Obsidian Fallout for years but is there even the slightest chance that anyone can make good Fallout shit if it's jumping off this hyper marketable amazon tv show? like I'm still firmly in the camp of not wanting them to make anymore Fallout shit like stop pouring FEV juice on my boy he's already looking too large and scary and he keeps saying "quarterly targets"

#i wish i muster up more than a little excitement for Obsidian making a new Fallout #but between these layoffs and restructuring it's left a mostly bitter taste in my mouth #id software got gutted and the devs didn't deserve any of that after making those incredible doom games #and the prospect of id being relegated to a support studio down the line has me seeing red #and i'm not happy about hearing whatever original projects Obsidian had planned are either cancelled or put on hold to focus on Fallout

i think all the best sci-fi is the sci-fi that looks dirty and lived in. like yeah we could have space travel and lasers but people are still gonna leave dirty cups by the side of their sleep pod and get weird alien mud stuck on their boots and put off fixing that faulty light on the lower deck of the spaceship. its relatable. its humanizing.
