Taanya never really had a chance to truly grieve the loss of her parents. She was really young and couldn't process the concept of death and dying. When her aunt and uncle gained custody of her, they tried the best they could to help Taanya, to comfort her. But, the sudden change in her life was just too much, and it deeply affected her in the long run.

Taanya owns a shotgun. It was a gift given to her by her uncle weeks prior to her moving into the US.
