I think you kind of can be genetically Catholic to some extent because when i started seeing online posts about how IVF babies weren’t ensouled the first thing my atheist-parents-having, never-been-to-church high-schooler ass did was sit my butt down in front of the computer and type in “pope says what about IVF babies am I ensouled”

It was honestly a relief to find out the Catholic Church does think I have a soul— even if my parents are going to hell for all of those unused fertilized eggs they created to make me.

it’s something about the aggressively obvious 2020s makeup too on everyone in every movie no matter what the time period is. it’s the 19th century they do not have highlight!!!!

look at meg march in 1994 vs 2019. they both look great! however! emma watson is wearing very obvious lipstick, mascara, concealer under eyes heavy foundation etc etc. you can see this at a glance. i literally in making this comparison had to google if this was a promotional image that she took or actually a still from the movie because her makeup just looks like normal 2019 makeup that a girl from 2019 would wear!!! (not to mention her costume. different post.) then look at trini alvarado on the other left. obviously she’s wearing tons of makeup because she’s in a movie and she has tons of lights on her all the time but it doesn’t look she is!! you can see circles under her eyes!! she doesn’t have The Shine to her face that emma watson does. she looks so much more believable as a girl from the 1860s not because she’s a perfect representation but simply because she does not Obviously Have On Modern Makeup

Sometimes when I'm sad I remember my sophomore year of college when I was so depressed I started hanging out with a bunch of Catholic kids and considering conversion and they invited me to watch the 2025 Superbowl with them and I was having a super fun time until a breast cancer ad that featured a lot of suggestive close-ups of boobs as a sort of "you like this but will you help #save the boobies" came on the screen and one of the guys very obviously shielded his eyes and the rest of them were so obviously disgusted/disapproving that I realized I was too much of a pervert to be there and stopped hanging out with them because I enjoyed drawing pin-ups too much to take that shit seriously. And it always makes me smile :).
