So, I got into Destiny

So inspiration struck and now I have four lines of a Destiny inspired song! i only have four lines of a song so don't get your hopes up too high, but I'm proud of what I have so far and wanted to share it :3

Anyway, a preamble for those inclined:

Most of these are pretty old, furthest dating back to about July 2019, so expect a number of them to be...lesser than others, and possibly compressed to shit/poorly cropped - i didn't know what i was doing at the time. BUT the good news is that the fresher they are by the date the better they get, so expect higher quality the further you go down the list

This at large is meant to document and immortalize the content that since had long been removed from the game, but it also includes stuff and destinations that are still available. Downloading and use is encouraged, do whatever you want

I hope this is a trip down memory lane for any community oldies - it definitely was for me while i was sifting through them lmao

And the last note. I have not had acess to any new content beyond the Witch Queen expansion and the seasons that followed it since it is currently region blocked in my fuckass terrorist country, hence why the latest of these are dated back to 2022. I miss this game immensely, my days for the past 3 years had not been the same without it; i will always keep it and the memories made in it close to my heart. This is as much an archive as it is a lover letter to this flawed but wonderful game. I hope you enjoy these as much as i do

I recommend having crossfade on for the first two tracks cause they blend really nicely. Also important to note, the YouTube version has some voicelines included at the start and the end!

This game has been there for me through many seasons of life and I hold it so, so dear to my heart. Through good and bad, it's been there for me and I for it. I still remember when Beyond Light came out and I finally agreed to try Destiny 2 after my brother had recommended it multiple times. I loaded into that first mission of Forsaken unknowing then that it was going to change my life so wonderfully.

While its future remains unclear - whether or not we'll someday get a Destiny 3 or ever truly conclude the story meant for us as guardians - I know I'll still be there to keep the Last City safe from whatever may come. Whenever the Vanguard calls me back, I'll answer.

Maybe someday we'll get to go right back to it and face the threats that still loom. Maybe someday we'll have the privilege to see another world's first raid. Maybe someday I'll once again be shelling out $100 a year for deluxe Destiny expansions and crying at cutscenes while I take hundreds of screenshots. Maybe someday I'll be jumping around the Tower while having deep talks with my friends at four in the morning. Maybe someday I'll again be proudly watching my brother, ever the best person in the fireteam, save a run by singlehandedly finishing a mechanic one of us mortals messed up. Maybe someday. But for now, we - as guardians - get to lay down our arms and rest.

Today, June 9th, for the final live update, I'm only playing Destiny 2. I'll be on Destiny many times after, because no game is quite like Destiny 2. It's a special mix of wonderful and broken (looking at you, Telesto) and nothing could ever replace it. I'm gutted by the news of the final update, I'm frustrated that my favorite game is being left unfinished, I still can't forgive Bungie for removing the Forsaken campaign, but I'm also so grateful to everyone that made Destiny 2 what it was.
