Soft Skills Comics

What are we working on next, you ask?  We have A LOT in store for 2019.  Stay tuned for a special website announcement, more show updates, more local events we are either attending or organizing, and shrinky dinks, lots and lots of shrinky dinks. 

We ended the year on an incredibly high note - we pulled off our second annual Holiday Spectacular of Artists on Parade.  We had over 20 local comic artists read their good, good stories and we raised over $800 for local non-profits KBOO and the Portland Zine Symposium.  Extra thanks to the Clinton Street Theater for putting up with us and our friends for two years in a row!  

Another M A J O R highlight of 2018 was getting into SPX!  We could not contain ourselves when we found out.  When we were tiny comics angels studying together at the Independent Publishing Resource Center, our educators all brought up SPX as the goal for many professionals.  And dang it, y’all, we got in last year!  We went to the prom, we watched the Ignatz, we did fancy face masks in the hotel, and then we slept for three days straight when we got home.  Truly a treasure.  

It looks like we’ve been asleep at the wheel around these ol’ dusty Tumblr corners, but we promise we haven’t!  2018 was a wild ride, here’s a quick recap of some of our favorite things!  First and foremost, we birthed a monstrosity into the world - our collab-o-zine What Does Ed Hardy Even Look Like?!  An experiment where we asked our friends and family to write poetry, illustrate, and story tell about the fabled living legend, the only prerequisite was you could not actually know what the man himself looked like.  It was a blast to create, and somehow people pay us money for copies of this.  What a world.
