Starting a new school year was always stressful, especially when you were in college. You had to make sure to meet all the deadlines so you could start on time, work out whatever issues you were having with financial aid to make sure they were able to pay for your classes, and oh god the move in… the moving in part was always hell. But luckily the first week of classes were finally over. Everyone was ready to just relax and enjoy their first weekend off, and what better way to enjoy the weekend then by coming to your annual back to school party.  

You’ve been known for your back to school parties since your freshman year of college. Back then you would have to rent out one of the old sorority houses because you couldn’t throw a party in your small little dorm room, but it was your junior year now and you finally got yourself an apartment off campus. You knew throwing a party at your own place could be a little bit of a nuisance afterwards, but you didn’t mind because it sure beats spending money on renting out some worn-down sorority house.  

To think you went from being that quiet, shy, nerdy girl that spent most of her time at the library studying back in high school, to being miss popular hosting all of the cool parties once you got to college was still quite a shock to you. Back in high school, you could’ve cared less about going to parties, let alone being popular, but the summer after your senior year of high school changed everything. You spent that entire summer reading up on all the latest fashion trends, started experimenting with make-up, and tried out different hair colors and styles. By the time summer ended you had completely transformed from a caterpillar to a butterfly. You ended up starting college not only with a new look, but a new boost of confidence to match, and honestly, you’ve never felt better.

College was like a whole new world for you. You used the new social skills you picked up and started talking to people and making friends left and right. Next thing you knew you had become one of the most popular girls on campus, of course the upper classmen girls were jealous because you were just a freshman back then and were already turning heads. But the difference between those other popular kids, and you were that you didn’t look down upon others. You were friends with everyone, you were nice to everyone. Although you were considered popular, you didn’t treat others like they were different from you, because you knew too well what that felt like. Which was why you made sure to invite everyone to your party. Whether they were considered popular or not. You wanted everyone to feel welcome and have a good time.  

You’ve been preparing for this party all week so you were glad to see it turn out so well. Some of the lower classmen that you invited were even there. They were just kicking it among themselves enjoying some drinks and snacks before they decided to head out. They never stay long, just for about an hour or so and they leave whenever it starts getting pretty crowded and wild. But at least they were leaving happy and that’s all that mattered.
