𝚊𝚞 𝚠𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝙰𝚍𝚍𝚢 𝚒𝚜 𝚓𝚎𝚊𝚕𝚘𝚞𝚜 

Standing off to the side, I watched as Warren hit the door, shouting for us to be let in. We needed shelter at least until the fire died down, as it made it incredibly heard to see any zombies and we needed clean air to breathe. Soon, the doors opened, revealing a quaint man with glasses, who let us in. As we entered, we noticed weapons pointed in our direction, so we drew our own. I pulled out my gun with one hand and used the other to lower the bandanna around my face. 

“My name is Gideon Gould. I’m the facilitator here. But we don’t really have a leader. Because everyone here participates in our decision making.” Beside Gideon stood a blonde woman who had her gun drawn, though her eyes kept wandering back towards me. I heard a soft scoff and looked to my right to see Addy rolling her eyes. 

“Great, we just need some shelter until the smoke clears and some of those zombies move on.” Warren commented.

Gideon walked around us all, holding his talking stick and spoke about what he saw in all of us. It seemed they’d be letting us stay for the time being, which relieved some of the worries I had. The blonde woman from earlier had come down to meet Gideon’s side and spoke about the talking stick. Addy kept her gaze on the woman as she talked, her eyes narrowing slightly. 

After we had been allowed to stay, the blonde woman led Addy and I outside, as Addy was determined on contacting Citizen Z to let him know about our whereabouts. I stood beside Addy as she worked, glancing over to the other woman as she spoke to us.

“You know, these satellite dishes are useless hotel porn makes a comeback.”

“Lovely as that would be, hotels would need to make a comeback first. I mean, if we’re lucky enough there’s enough circuitry left that we could reorient one of these dishes and get another satellite going here. But.. see. We’re not lucky.” Addy commented, sighing slightly as she looked at the control panel. 

“Great. All the way from New York?” The woman spoke, looking in my direction. 

“Yeah. We both are..” I spoke, moving over to stand by Addy as she went to another satellite dish.

“Seems impossible.”

Addy stood up and sighed deeply, and moved over to the woman. “For some of us it was.” 

“You know we’ve been inside this hotel since day one.”

“Nobody tried to leave?” I questioned, moving closer to the two.

“Lots of people. Some of them escaped. Some were banished. Yeah, I thought they were the lucky ones. Then they’d always turn back up a few days later. Zombies. After awhile, you just stop trying.”

“Well.. it makes sense you stayed. You had food and shelter.” Addy spoke, nodding for me to climb up the ladder to check out the wiring.

“Will you spot me real quick?” I questioned, looking to the other woman. She nodded and came over and I got to work. Though I glanced over to Addy to see her standing there, her arms crossed over her chest, her eyes narrowed at the woman. 

“Sometimes, I thought I was going insane. Gideon’s very controlling. I just wanted to be somewhere without a ceiling.” She began, looking up at me. “You know, breathe fresh air out in an open sky.”

“It’s dead.” I concluded simply glancing towards Addy who nodded. I climbed down the ladder and almost jumped as the woman grabbed my hand, staring me in the eyes.

“See different faces,” She added on. I removed my hand quickly and moved back slightly.

“I gotta tell you. It’s effed up out there.”

“How do you keep going?” She asked. 

I glanced behind me and smiled, “I have Addy by my side.” She stared down at me and seemed to get closer to me but she jumped as a gun shot rang. I moved over to Addy who grabbed my hand and guided me inside. 

“I don’t like her.” Addy whispered to me.

“Why? She seems nice.” I responded.

“Because, she’s flirting with you.” 

“Well.. yeah. But I’m with you Addy. No matter how much she flirts with me, I’m not going to leave you. You know that.”

“I know... but after everything that happened with... Mack. I can’t loose you, no matter what the circumstance.”

“Addy, I promise you. I am not leaving your side, at least willingly. I love you, plus you’re hot when your jealous.” I whispered out, giggling softly.

“I am not.”

“I don’t like her.” I mocked, causing Addy to laugh and smack my shoulder.

𝚙𝚕𝚎𝚊𝚜𝚎 𝚜𝚎𝚗𝚍 𝚒𝚗 𝚛𝚎𝚚𝚞𝚎𝚜𝚝𝚜!

Looking overhead, (Y/N) stood by Warren after a fight with Murphy had ensued. The only reason they had paused their attack was because a yellow plane had flown overhead, leaving them distracted. Running to the window, (Y/N)’s heart filled with hope. Simon had told her over the radio he was planning to find her and the rest of the group. So the person in this plane could very well be Simon.

Without another word, she ran out of the room, passing all the blends and bodies on the ground. She heard footsteps following her and could only assume both Murphy and Warren were following her out as well. As she made it to the grassy hill, she had seen the yellow plane. It had crash landed. But before her very eyes, she saw a figure heading her way. 

As the figure waved to her and lowered their hood, her heart soared. Simon was here, just like he had promised. But she could only raise a brow when he pulled out his gun, aiming it at her. Why was he trying to fire at her? Didn’t he love her? She hadn’t realized the reason until it was to late. The screams from Warren and Simon were muffled as she felt teeth tear into the flesh of her arm. She screamed, turning to see a zombie had gotten out from Murphy’s zombie mote. 

A bullet soon went into the zombie’s skull, much to Murphy’s protest and (Y/N) fell to the ground, holding the bleeding wound with her other hand. Simon had ran over to her and threw himself onto his knees as he reached her side. He put her head in his lap as he began crying, seeing her body begin to convulse. 

“Do something! Save her!” Simon shouted towards Murphy. Tears had clouded his vision and he held onto her tightly, hoping to anything she would be fine. But deep down he knew she wouldn’t be. “Goddammit Murphy! Bite her!” 

“I.. I don’t do that anymore,” Murphy protested, looking conflicted and uncomfortable. 

“Citizen Z- Simon, we may have to... mercy her.” Warren spoke softly, coming over to the man’s side. 

“No! No! Murphy fix her! Help her! Use those antibodies, please. Warren tell him! Tell him to save her!” Simon shouted, the warm tears falling rapidly down his cheeks.

“Simon.. I.. I love you Simon,” (Y/N) choked out, her body soon stilling. Her hand twitched and as Simon looked down, (Y/N) opened her eyes, but they weren’t her beautiful colored eyes from before. Now they were clouded and a soft snarl came from her throat.

“We have to do it now Simon..” Warren spoke, going to grab her gun.

 𝙰𝚕𝚜𝚘 𝚏𝚎𝚎𝚕 𝚏𝚛𝚎𝚎 𝚝𝚘 𝚜𝚎𝚗𝚍 𝚒𝚗 𝚛𝚎𝚚𝚞𝚎𝚜𝚝𝚜 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚠𝚑𝚊𝚝𝚗𝚘𝚝, 𝙸’𝚕𝚕 𝚍𝚘 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚖!

“Friends, I’m talking about mean weather coming in fast. Some reports of tornadoes. Find shelter and take cover. It’s dangerous out there. More so than usual. Now, back to the soothing sound of the apocalypse.” Simon spoke as he leaned towards his microphone. After finishing his statement, he leaned back, moving to his record player. He moved the arm to the record player and the soft sounds of music filled the room. 

Simon then glanced to you, seeing that you were currently asleep in a nearby chair, your cheek pressed against the surface of the desk. He smiled softly before he stood up, looking around his base for a blanket. He knew he had some somewhere, considering this base was packed to survive for ten years if something went wrong. He had to admit, he was glad you chose to stay here instead of getting on the plane that had crashed. You provided him company and kept him rooted in this horrible world. Thankfully, you two didn’t have much issues with the Z’s, other than the zombie dog he killed a few days back. Though that was the only good thing about being in the cold up North.

Exiting the room, he moved down the hallway, going to a storage room where he was sure that blankets would be stored. He opened the door and peered in, sighing in relief as he saw a few blankets piled up. He grabbed the one closest to him and moved back to the room. As he entered, the husky pup he rescued raised its head, looking at him. 

Simon lifted a finger to his lips, “You gotta be quiet, (Y/N) is sleeping. God knows she needs it.” He commented. The dog lowered its head, seeming to understand his words. 

He approached your form and wrapped the blanket around you, smiling as he couldn’t help but admire your features. You looked so peaceful when you were asleep. Within the three to four years of being stranded here in the apocalypse, he began to realize he had feelings for you. Of course he never voiced them, as he was to scared to say anything. He was afraid he’d ruin the friendship the two of you shared. But as he leaned down to secure the blanket, he couldn’t help but whisper,

“I love you.”

He jumped back in surprise as he heard your soft voice respond,
