C.L.U always listened to Flynn whenever he spoke of the World of the User's. He spoke of "animals", creatures unlike Grid Bugs that existed alongside User's. One of these "animals" that caught C.L.U's imagination was called "dogs". Flynn said that they came from a wild but where "domesticated" by User's to fit their needs and wants. C.L.U saved the title Flynn labeled them as, "pets" , which are like tools and companions in one. TRON once was a wild creature (at least in his belief in the User's was wild) but now as Rinzler, he serves the Grid as well as his Master. C.L.U did not reprogrammed TRON. He domesticated him and keeps a leash to ensure his Guard Dog of the Grid does not run away to his old Master.

C.L.U was very pleased with himself. So many cycles have passed and he wondered why he had not done this sooner. It is true. He can not create new programs like Flynn, but he can duplicate existing programs. He can even extract previous versions of them without them having any data or history recollection to their current version. Rinzler is an obedient pet, but a cold companion. The Tron he loves is locked away in Rinzler's code. Even if he did delete the Rinzler programming, Tron can't see C.L.U's vision because he is blinded by Flynn's flawed ideals. C.L.U can't let Tron go because he will run to that failed User. C.L.U wants Tron. He needs him... but Tron doesn't. He hates C.L.U. and the Perfect System he has built. He won't let himself be held like before. Tron will look at C.L.U with hate and anger... But this younger version of him. With his white armor and deep blue glowing circuits of a bygone era. The deep and warm voice that calls to C.L.U and gentle eyes that look his way. He see's C.L.U as a leader, a friend and a lover. He obeys willingly. This Tron is not influenced by Flynn's foolish manners. This Tron doesn't even know who Flynn is...
