You're ripped at every edge but you're a masterpiece

SEBASTIAN: Miss Fabray.

SEBASTIAN: We should have lunch together at the country club this weekend. Just you and I. Thoughts?

FRANNIE: Mr Smythe.

Compared to the despicable things that Sebastian has said and done, I’m being a fucking saint by posting this. How easy it is for you to look past all the horrible things that you and yours do just because you are capable of hiding all that darkness behind designer labels. I made a joke. Lighten up, Fabray. It’s not like I was the one that hit him with that car. 

Well, there’s no proof that you didn’t hit him. Anyone could’ve, greaser or otherwise. It doesn’t matter what Sebastian has done. No one knew what state he was in. He could’ve been dying and people were making horrific jokes about it all, yet when one of yours is injured, you jump straight at the opportunity to defend them. So no, Lopez, I will not lighten up. 

“yeah but at the same time, we all know each others dark secrets too.” Jeff stated in return. Their world, their side of the tracks relied most of who could control who and who had the money. Secrets we’re just part of being a Soc. Jeff chuckled some. “Yes, we do and smack them, I know you’re good at giving someone a hard back hand.” 

I wasn’t hurt, no, but I did get shoved a couple of times and someone thought it would be a riot to draw on my signs so I had to toss them pretty quick but I did get home with my shoes still on my feet and without gum in my hair so I’d consider that an end to a night to be proud of. I hope you and your camera survived the night better than those two greasers did.

I’m as in the dark as everyone else unfortunately. Even if my parents would let me go, I don’t know if I can stand to see him in the hospital with tubes and needles and wires attached to him. I just want to know if he’s okay.

Well, that’s certainly an achievement. I have to admit I managed the same, but it’s surprising how many rude men can be silenced if you offer to take their picture and claim you’re from some famous magazine. Which, considering it was supposed to be a secret event, certainly seemed laughable. I and it certainly did... It’s a shame about the greasers. No one deserved to be hurt, even if it was their own fault for getting involved.

Sighing internally and thanking whoever was looking down at him, Jake admired the picture. Most people didn’t know that he actually got art some times. He wasn’t a painter and his camera work was beginner at best, but he could view a piece and give a decent critic of it when he felt like it. Frannie’s work was awesome and he knew it’d look even better after a few tweaks here and there. Part of him was still hoping for something striking and out there, but he knew his stomach and mind would thank him later for opting out. “This is your worst?” He chuckled, gesturing to the bandaged hand. “Come on I know you have some really bad ones in there. Did you get Gilbert or Evans in their stretchers at least?”

“I managed to get a couple from the crash, but I didn’t get the chance to get close enough for the stretcher. I was avoiding being inside as much.” She didn’t say why. While it was hardly a secret, admitting that she wasn’t the most comfortable in crowds certainly wasn’t something she was about to do. Instead, she flicked through, pulling up the images of the car. You could just see Sam inside, and he didn’t look good at all, “Here you go... I do have worse, but are you sure you can stomach it?” the little smirk on her lips showed she was entirely teasing, her eyes fixing on his features as she did so.

Thanks Frannie. I know I can always count on you to lift me out of a bad mood. I’m not as bent as I was earlier about taking second but it still stings. I was counting on first but losing to Sebastian is better than someone I don’t know. Or a greaser. I’m too good of a driver to make a stupid mistake that would make me crash unless someone else hit me first.

I’m only returning the favour. I think most of us are used to losing to Sebastian by now, and of all the socials to win, I would’ve counted on you or Sebastian. I may have even placed a bet on you, so you know, you had my support. Still, I’m glad you’re okay. None of us knew what the outsiders would be like, and the greasers... well, they need the money so I was half expecting foul play, so the fact you came second and are completely safe, it’s... I’m glad. I’m happy.

I’m really starting to think that you privileged brown noses have meetings about what the next trendy thing is to say to us. Is that where you all disappear to instead of doing a hard day’s work?

Has everyone just completely forgotten that I do have a job? We don’t all sit at home all day. Some of us work just as damn hard as you guys do, and we do it without complaining. Once you get your facts straight, then you can make that comment. As for the meetings, maybe we do. Maybe we don’t. When it becomes your business I’ll be sure to let you know.

Some of us weren’t given daddy’s money and raised in privileged, so yes I’m fucking proud of myself Fabray.

I earn what I spend, Miller. I don’t go around beating the crap out of people just for a prize fund. Yes, my father has money and yes, I have access to it when I want, but the money I spend it money I have earned from working. You should try it.

Jeff blushed, looking down at his feet as he sat up.  “I think you’re the only one that sees how I look at him. No one else notices.” He shrugged. Chuckling softly Jeff stood, he knew they had to get back soon. “I can only hope you’re right, Frannie.” offering his hand to help her up. “Come on, we should get back before they’re overloaded.” 

“Isn’t that a good thing though?” She asked with a smile, “Everyone in this town is so wrapped up in themselves that we can keep our lives and secrets very much to ourselves.” She smiled, sighing as he stood up, moving to take his hand and pull herself up with a playful pout, “Do we have to? The out-of-towners keep trying to grab my ass.”
