Did some off roadin today!
"Oh darn~ I really thought you would fall for that," he chuckled then became serious. After a moment, he sighed and shifted a bit, "Look, I donât want to be near you, you donât want to be near me. Iâd rather we just go our separate ways now so you can go on with your miserable life and I with mine, but-" Alec looked at James then sighed angrily, "Fine, Iâm fucking lost. You happy I admitted? I just want to get out of this god forsaken forest."
"Think that makes a difference to me?" he chuckled, "I'm not helping you, man. Matter of fact, I'm in the right mind to kill you right here. But, I guess I can't really do that. Don't want to get in trouble." He took a couple steps back, wondering if he should fly away and warn the others. He was sure that Agatha could take him down, if nothing else. He wasn't sure that Ace wanted his brother taken down, however, so he supposed he'd simply stall him as long as he could, hopefully until one of the patrol squad came around and found them.
"I didnât really expect that because I didnât really care. Didnât you get the memo?" he sighed and crossed his arms over his chest. He really didnât like this kid.
"I wouldnât want to test it," he shrugged, almost giving the appearance that he was bored. His gun rubbed up against the tree, hidden by Alecâs belt. "Look, right now, I couldnât give any less of a fuck what youâre doing," he stated bluntly, "Iâll give you a head start if you get me out of this forest."
James scoffed at the notion, shaking his head in amusement. "The fact that you think I'm gonna help you do anything or need a headstart to get away from you is really pretty fuckin' hilarious. 'Sides, you wouldn't give me a headstart even if I did help you. I'm not an idiot."

Right. This goddamn kid and his goddamn attitude that was a real pain in the ass. âOh right,â he responded venomously, yet gave him a piercing smile, âOf course I remember you. Youâre the reason we upped security.â
His gaze wandered a bit, âWhat are you doing here? In the middle of a forest?â his eyes made their way back to the boy in front of him, âFinally becoming the animal you are?â Alec chuckled a bit and leaned against a tree.
A smirk crept its way onto James' features. Honestly, it was kind of flattering that he was so much of an issue that they had to up their security measures. "Destruction's my middle name," he responded with a shrug, "Should'a expected that when you tried to lock me up."
He slipped his hands into his pockets casually, his fingers closing around one of his pocket knives in the likely case that he would have to use it to defend himself. "Could say that, I guess. You might not be glad that's the case, though. Animals are generally better fighters than people, you know."
Though he didnât want to admit it himself, Alec was lost. Very lost. No matter, he could deal with this. With his hands in his pockets, he made his way through the forest, only to stumble upon..a lost memory, to say the least. Wings, so it must have been from the show. An escapee? How unfortunate for him. But, of course, this was fortunate for Alec.
He stared at the boy, then asked directly, âI know you, donât I?â
He wondered to himself if the others would hear him if he screamed. They hadn't heard him when he found Nelly, nor had they heard him... really any other time that he tried. He really needed to start carrying a walkie talkie with him. He supposed, however, this would alert Alec of the town's presence, something he couldn't let happen.Â
"Yeah, you do. From your goddamn nightmares," he spat, "I'm the one that broke your dumbass cages."

Ka-Bar Zombie Dozier and Dozier Mini - Cause you never know when the zombie apocalypse will hit ;-)
ringleaderofdiscord has entered the forest
For a very, very brief moment, James had mistaken the man before him for Ace. He realized his mistake as quickly as it had been made, however--a fact that he was grateful for, as this particular mistake could prove to be fatal. He knew his father well enough to know that he never left the house with messy hair.Â
His twin, however, did.Â
James didn't know whether to hide or launch himself at Alec, kicking and biting and clawing. So, of course, he simply sat there in his uncle's direct path, staring with wide eyes.
Oh, he was so fucked.

Ace began to tell James but then backed off for that moment. James was.. defending him⌠He gazed upon James and Dana as they stood up against their own flesh and blood parents. The moment James corrected his father, Ace felt himself feeling choked up. James Andrew Hughes. Ace put a hand on Jamesâs shoulder and smiled at him.
His attention was brought to the other two standing in front of them. âYour children have decided,â he said plainly, âIs there any more argument?â
James stared expectantly at the two before him, waiting for their response. He hoped that they would simply leave peacefully, make things easier on him and Dana.Â
This, however, was not Maxwell's intention. He took a step forward and opened his mouth to speak, but was cut off by a meek voice who's owner stood between James and Ace.
"W-we aren't pets that you can keep locked up in a cage..." Dana said quietly, "We need freedom... and we have that here." She glanced up at James, who, in return, smiled down at her and placed an arm around her shoulder.Â
The couple stared in shock at their youngest child, baffled that she had the courage to stand up for herself. Maybe this experience had been good for them after all...

"You think thatâs a valid excuse? They never talked to you? Did you ever try to talk to them? Did you ask why they didnât talk to you? Did you put out any effort?â he needed to stop and collect himself after that. Donât get too heated. Not yet. Itâs just like chess. You donât fight fire with fire right away. Beat them with logic before anything.
"I understand you were trying to protect them, but what were you expecting as they grew up? Them to sit happily in the same place every day of their lives? Then you donât know how people work and feel. There are better ways to protect them. I could think of five right now," Ace held back a venomous tone to the last sentence, so it came out more as a matter-of-fact. His eyes stole a glance to Yama to calm himself down before looking back at the excuse of a father.
Before Maxwell could say anything in response to the other's accusations, James approached from behind Ace. He narrowed his eyes at the scene before him before speaking up.
"What exactly is going on here?" he inquired, hands shoved into his pockets.Â
"Finally, you're here," Bonnie said, her gaze never leaving Ace's eyes, "Go gather yours and your sister's things, James. We're leaving."
"What? No! No way in hell. Are you nuts?" he responded quickly, taking Dana's hand, "We're staying right here." Dana, though she remained quiet, nodded in agreement.
"James Andrew Walker," growled Maxwell, "You march yourself to wherever it is you're staying and pack your things, now."
"I said, no. And my name's not Walker," he said in a low tone, taking a step closer to Ace, "It's Hughes."

Ace stared at the man and woman that stood in front of him, claiming to be the rightful parents of his son and daughter. His children. Yes, even James. The scientist looked down then chuckled a bit as a thought came to his head. âYou claim yourself to be parents, yet do you even know anything about your son or your daughter?â he looked back up at the two, âParents are the people who look after you, teach you, prepare you, nurture you, then let you fly. Have you done any of that?â
He then looked around at the crowd that had gathered. None of it phased him. The mayor had one goal and one goal only. âDo you even know your sonâs favorite band? Your daughterâs favorite book?â he chuckled a bit, âAnything that makes them happy?â Thatâs when he looked right at them, conveying the body language of a lawyer yet the eyes of a mad man.
Maxwell glared back at Ace with as much ferocity as he could manage in a look. Calling him angry would be an injustice, as he was far beyond this simple, singular emotion. The reason for this was, of course, because Ace was right. This young man who had known James and Dana for two, maybe three years tops, knew his children better than he did. And this infuriated him.Â
"Everything I did, I did to protect them," he said through grit teeth, pushing his glasses up on the bridge of his nose. "Maybe I don't know James' favorite band, and maybe I only know a handful of the books Dana has read, but that's only because they never talked to me, and that's not my fault."

Devon Bostick in Sacrifice Part 2/4
Years of Separation || Drabble
They'd heard the news briefly after the couple entered the small town--news did travel fast, after all, and the guards had sent word to Ace and Yama. James had, of course, overheard the conversation via walkie-talkie, and rushed up to Dana's room to drag her outside to meet the two when he heard that the names of the newcomers were Maxwell and Bonnie.
Those names belonged to James and Danas' parents.
He was suddenly aware of multiple sets of eyes on the four of them, though was not surprised by this fact in the slightest. Everyone in the town knew him, and to get into the town without an issue, his parents had stated that they were looking for the pair of siblings. Still, however, he wished that they'd give the four of them privacy.
He heard the sound of crunching leaves next to him and looked over to find Dana taking the first step towards them. At first, they were slow, catious steps, as if she was positive the other two would disappear into thin air if she went too fast. Soon enough, though, his younger sister was sprinting forward as fast as her little legs would carry her, throwing herself into the arms of her mother and sobbing like the child she never liked to admit that she was.
James, however, was much more hesitant. Over the years they'd been seperated, he had convinced himself that his parents hated him, hated him for endangering them when he'd snuck out, hated him for getting Dana caught, hated him for all of the greif that he was sure he had caused them when both of their babies had been taken from them because of some stupid mistake. He stared at his sister being inveloped in their parents' arms, and finally broke eye contact to look around at the group of people that had gathered around their family.Â
The first faces he caught a glimpse of were Nelly and DeAndre's. DeAndre had an arm wrapped around Nelly's shoulders, as if attempting to comfort her, and Nelly simply stood staring in shock at Maxwell and Bonnie. Her eyes darted to meet James' own as if asking him what she should do. His gaze wandered to Cait and Kale next, whos ears stood up straight as if they were on alert. Cait, while obviously confused, still looked to James with concern, Kale almost looking apologetic.
He risked a glance backwards to Yama and immidiately regretted his desicion, a pang of guilt shooting through his heart at the sight. She covered her mouth with her left hand, her right gripping Ace's own hand tightly as she willed her tears to remain in her eyes. And Ace... his mouth was set in a firm line, his eyebrows furrowed in what James was sure was anger. A wave of panic flodded over him, convinced that Ace was angry with him, though for what reason, he wasn't sure. After a moment of staring at the leader of Summerbrook, he felt a tugging on his arm, and his head whipped around in a panic, only to find the twins tugging him gently away from the eyes that all stared at him and his sister. He complied, although he allowed his mind to wander as the two pulled him along, hearing none of the questions and comforts they offered to him.
He heard his blood pumping loudly in his ears, the thoughts in his head buzzing about like angry bees. A pair of hands pushed down on his shoulders carefully, as if worried he would break if the hands were too forceful. He found himself sitting on a small stump, both Dante and Daniel talking in quiet, comforting voices.
After a moment or two of anxiety and panic, the pounding in his ears started to reside, and he could hear the words that they were saying more clearly. They were mostly meaningless things, like asking if he was okay and how he was doing, because it was so painfully obvious that he couldn't be less okay if he tried, but he was happy just to have them there. After he was mostly sure that he would be able to speak without breaking down in terrified tears, he asked if one of them could go and see what was happening in the square. The two looked at each other briefly before Dante sprung up from his spot in front of James, running off in the direction that they had come from. More comforting words came from Daniel soon after, even going so far as to wrap an arm around James' shoulder as an act of comfort. It was a little bit awkward, however, with his wings in the way. Dante soon came trotting back, informing James and Daniel that Ace was talking to Maxwell and Bonnie about something, and although he couldn't hear what exactly it was that they were saying, Dana had been standing behind Ace instead of with her parents. This caused concern to course through his veins and he stood up from his spot on the stump to head back into the center of town, one twin on either side of him.
