James is glad they have stopped moving around and can stay in Godric’s Hollow to hide. Lily admits it’s easier than moving constantly with a 1 year old, but staying put makes her uneasy. It’s alright, he assures her, they’re among friends.
Dumbledore visits for tea and a brief check in. Everything is fine, they assure him and Harry can’t tell the difference, they’ve been moving and hiding his whole life. Dumbledore says that he regrets this fact and Lily is quick to assure him that she understands the necessity of it, even if she doesn’t like it. Only Sirius and Peter can make it to their mock-house-warming party–everyone else is dead or on a mission. Lily and James are both becoming antsy and waspish from not being able to leave the house. On Halloween morning, Lily gets increasingly disturbed that she can’t find her wand and the last time she saw it was the party.
