Mis/Adventures of a band called Snübear

Our first tour out of town was nothing short of exciting. We were tired on the first day, but we definitely enjoyed the Canned Ink gig at saGuijo. The night after that was the Tres gig at Route 196, where we saw familiar faces: Friends from Cebu and Manila who came to express their support. Tres had a great line-up. It was the first time we saw Cambio play live! On our third and last night, we played at the Black King's Bar near North Edsa. Different crowd, different energy. It was just as fun. 

We'd like to thank everyone who supported us. Thank you, Ajie Recto of Green Apple prod for inviting us, for seeing our potential! Thank you, Bomba Press for booking our accommodations for us, and for supporting the tour!

We were recently interviewed by musiclife.com: 

Creativity. Originality. Inspiration. Cognition: These are all key elements comprising the essence of a musician, whether it is one who is considered a veteran with all the experience and connections, or one who is just starting off and standing before a series of challenges to make it big in the vast, unpredictable, unstable music industry. For the latter, only time and perpetual persistence will tell how capable one is to last long enough to be among the former. Nevertheless, it also entails a journey that any artist considers a privilege to be constantly embarking on.

This can be said for Snübear, a five-piece Filipino group based in Cebu, one of the major cities in the Visayas region of the Philippines. Formed in April 2013, this new, up-and-coming talent has acquired its niche in indie rock music – influenced by the genres synth, post-punk and funk. As the saying goes: “You’ve got to start somewhere.” And true enough, the band has taken hold of technological advantage and independently released their first single, “Crazy Maddy,” through the Internet on September 2013.
