nate has lied to elena since they first met. like don’t forget he straight up Conned her into making her pay for his whole el dorado expedition. and then she didn’t get what she was promised in return. but even after all that she saw the good in him and embraced that. but his lies in u4 were worse than any other lies before, because they had made promises to each other, whether they were both happy with their decision or not. and not only that but learning that nate was hiding this huge part of his life, a brother, from her?? it was awful to learn that, especially in the way she did. and that’s why the, “Who are you?” line from her just fucking slaps me in the face and throws me in a ditch every time i hear it. because she’s serious. she is doubting So Many of the things she knows about nate in that moment. she hates that she has to and that she is, but she can’t help it.
