Luke was very funny. He had a good laugh. His family was Finnish and he was always correcting my pronunciation of sauna. He was in the role above me at work and he fucking hated taking escalations. There was this one old woman that would only ever talk to him, and he always somehow talked her down. He had two sisters, both of his parents had died of cancer. He was made the executor of the estate for one of them, and asked me to sign as witness when he renunciated the responsibility. He had brain cancer and I didn't even actually know him for the first year and a half I worked at the office because he was off on LTD. He would occasionally have seizures and be off for long periods of time. He knew more about db pension than anyone our age had any right to know. Our joint favourite movie was What We Do In The Shadows and for his birthday I made him an embroidery hoop with a quote we would say all the time. He was from Thunder Bay, and once gifted me with a piece of raw amethyst he grabbed from a quarry there. I don't know what else there is to say about him. He was a weird guy. He was a coworker. He was my friend.
