For school: SketchUp, Rhino, 3d max

For office work: Revit

That is an interesting question. My generation learned by drawing by hand, so it had merit. If I want to understand something I would draw it, in detail, as a result I communicate a lot with quick sketches or diagrams. The people going to school now, from what I can perceive, use the computer as I used the pencil and are able to communicate better by creating an image in the computer.

I think we should still teach hand drawing, but not drafting as a path to do construction documents for buildings, but as a way to train yourself to communicate ideas. Hand sketching is still a valuable tool, and will continue to be a valuable tool for some, even with computers and virtual models being the industry standard.

Three Dimensional City Maps of France

In regard to the upcoming European Football Championship in France, Luis Dilger created a special poster series with unique three-dimensional city maps of all hosting cities of the UEFA Euro 2016. We have previously featured the series City Layouts here and here. Dilger uses topography, architecture and traffic routes to give every city a unique structure creating a real world visualization.
