Could Shadows of Adam be any prettier? (No is the rhetoric answer.)

The indie JRPG by @somethingclassicgames came out in February and holds very positive reviews on Steam.

Gameplay has all the familiar features of the genre (even the UI matches Final Fantasy blue gradients) and from the pixel art perspective it features some of the best tilemap work alike Chrono Trigger overworld map and Sword of Mana environments.

It’s a game that’s out, so not much more needs to be said. Watch the trailer and go play it if it’s your thing.

located in the remote, mountainous area of china’s garze tibetan autonomous prefecture, larung gar is the largest buddhist settlement in the world, with 40,000 monks and nuns drawn to its larung wuming buddhist institute for study.

living in tightly packed wooden huts spreading over and up the hilly terrain, conditions for the village residents are basic, with the segregated monks and nuns sharing communal toilets, and huts left unheated throughout the harsh winter months.  

established by an influential lama of the nyingma tradition some thirty years ago in a then uninhabited valley, the settlement quickly grew, attracting a mix a students from china, taiwan, singapore and malaysia. 

the settlement welcomes everyone, including the tibetan buddhist nomads seen in several photos, with the monks and nuns living off donations and revenue from a guest house built for those who make the twenty hour coach ride from chengdu. 

The peak actually shares the border with Venezuela, Brazil, and Guyana, but the mountain is almost always approached from the Venezuela side. The Brazil and Guyana sides are much more difficult. The mountain’s highest point is Maverick Rock which is at and on the Venezuela side (thought some other sources may differ on this).
