“Dancing bear got rescued by Team Sneha’s” Having the information received from the locals of Siraha District, Team Sneha’s Care headed overnight towards the destination to rescue the Dancing Bear. This little chap was found in a small village where his owner was making him perform the show. Our team then started the mission to rescue him with the help of local police. The name of this bear is “Dhuturu”. Dhuturu is an year old bear and started to perform since last month. It is good that we luckily found him on time and not let him dance his entire life. Dhuturu can be called as the “Last Dancing Bear Of Nepal”. According to the community there are no more Dancing Bears in Nepal anymore after Dhuturu. We brought Dhuturu to Kathmandu and he is now at the Central Zoo and is in the procedure to be relocated to India with other friends like him to start the life he always wanted. After the incident, hundreds of dogs were brutally beaten and poisoned by the Diktel Rupakot Mazhuwagadhi Municipality, the team of Sneha's Care and Nepal Veterinary Association reached Diktel for emergency support to the survived dogs. The Mayor Dipnarayan Regmi, disagreed about the incident and did not support us in helping the remaining dogs in the municipality. We filed a complaint against the Mayor and whoever involved in the dog killing incident this afternoon at the District Police Office. While returning to Kathmandu from Diktel, some local stopped our vehicle and took us back to Diktel not allowing us to continue to Kathmandu. These are the people of Mayor who asked them to do such an act. We feel like we are kidnapped. We ask for the prompt release of our emergency treatment team from Diktel. Finally we got a good land to build a shelter for the innocent cows and calves of Ghodaghodi Municipality in Kailali. We have gained so much but we have lost our feeling of being human, losing our humanity. We treat everything like objects and let ourselves to act inhumane. This poor little thing was a household pet. But after he started to losing his hair, the owners just let it go. Just leave it to be. I travelled with them for more than 24 hours to know how they arrive at Kathmandu from the border of India. Their nose and tail are tied so tightly with the rope so that they cannot move, they are beaten more than 1000 times during their travel so that they do not try to sit on the floor. I am fighting for these voiceless animals with the concern people and government to stop torturing them and transporting them alive. Criminal Minded people have started stabbing even a dog with a sharp object. How cruel are people are turning into! Nani as the local called her was stabbed this morning by an absolute sick minded person. Whatever might have been his motive towards this, the reason cannot justify his crime. Well thanks to Biru ji from Machhapokhari for reporting this case to us. The poor girl was lying calmly despite her severe wound in the stomach. We rescued her and brought to the shelter. We get agitated when repeatedly we get informed about hit and run case every day. How could someone be so heartless to not see an innocent life on the road? Life of such strays is getting difficult day by day. It's not safe for them to be on the road. Fortunately, Mr. Padam saw the dog lying with blood on the road at Pepsicola, Kathmandu. He felt pity for the dog and informed us immediately. Even our team got devasted seeing the dog at the spot. His bleeding didn't stop even when he was boarded to the ambulance by our team. We did X-ray of the dog and found that the bones of his left hind limb were broken. Poor thing, how much might he have been and still suffering. He is rescued and brought to our shelter.
