Headcanon: Speech

Lilja was born in a secluded Veena village, and as such she didn’t learn common growing up, instead learning the traditional Viera language. She didn’t begin learning common until very recently, and so her common is still very basic and she can’t speak it fluently. She’ll appreciate all the help she can get!

In her WoL verse however, I like to imagine that the Scions helped her out. By Heavensward her common is a lot better, though she’ll still falter at times. She keeps her accent though (Eorzea’s equivalent to Icelandic).
