◓ the pokemon type legacy ◓
do you love generational challenges in the sims? are you a pokemon nerd? if so, this may be the legacy challenge for you. introducing the pokemon type legacy, an 18 generation-long challenge meant to explore what the sims 4 has to offer and, most of all, have fun! i've been working on the rules for a few months now and haven't playtested everything, so bear with me if there are a few tweaks made along the way. you can see my pokemon type legacy gameplay here. please tag me if you end up doing this challenge! i'd love to see other people's gameplay :D
general rules:
complete the given aspirations and reach level ten of the given careers unless otherwise stated
play on normal lifespan
each heir should have at least one biological child
some collections are difficult to complete and most are luck based. if you don't complete a collection during the generation that it's listed under, just continue that goal to the next generation
i love color gameplay! if you like it too, i've listed two colors for each generation, one of which carries over to the next. this is completely optional ofc
have fun! if something in the rules doesn't vibe with your gameplay style, or if you want to skip generations, that's fine. play however you want to play!
gen 1: normal type
throughout your childhood and teenage years, you were always the girl/boy next door: sweet, polite, but never interesting enough to hold anyone's attention. because of this, you want to make sure your future children don't share the same fate as you. you try to start a family with a person that's maybe not the best fit for you, but hey, they'll change, right? after a messy breakup, you realize that your life partner is right under your nose, and together you two try to be the best parents you can be.

you and your twin were inseparable since birth. they were always more courageous, and helped you get out of your shell as a child. soon, you shared another thing with your twin- your joint best friend. the three of you were going to go through life together! however, a sudden illness takes your other half away from you, and you never truly let them go. sometimes, you can still hear them talking to you… you retreat into the comfort of books, only talking to your childhood friend and your twin. your twin begins asking you to get them traces of the outside world, which you provide in the form of pictures and postcards. in return, your twin gives you inspiration for your latest thriller novel- your readers often say your reclusive habits and your chilling stories make them think you’re a ghost, yourself…

maybe forgotten hollow wasn’t the best place to raise a child, but to you, it’s the only place you can truly call home. instead of staying at the house and seeing your parent talking back to the voices in their head, you went out exploring the hollow. soon, you meet a child about your age to explore with. you never see them eat anything, and you two always go out after the sun goes down, but you don’t think too deeply about it. as you get older, your friend’s parents begin pressuring them to marry into another family- old money, you think. but one night, they break down and tell you that they’re a vampire, and their parents want them to continue the bloodline. horrified, you run away. however, as the months go by, you realize that you want nothing else but your childhood friend, even if they are an undead bloodsucker. as an act of rebellion, you convince them to turn you into a vampire, so you can live for the rest of eternity with your true love.

because you’re an only child, your parents always spoiled you and provided for you no matter what. so, when you became an adult, you wanted to give back and provide for them in return. you stay in your childhood neighborhood, marrying your high school sweetheart and joining the workforce, but a messy divorce after you catch your spouse cheating on you leaves a previously lively house unusually quiet. you start a garden as something to keep you busy, but after meeting and marrying your real soulmate while remodeling their house, the garden blooms and flourishes under your shared care. your friends may say that your life is disgustingly domestic, but life with your loving spouse makes you the happiest you could possibly be.

your childhood was the worst part of your entire life. you hate your parent, and you resent them for allowing the constant stream of adults in and out of the house, causing more and more siblings to be brought into the world. you can distract yourself with school, and your studies and your high school sweetheart are your only escapes from your hellish home life. but, emotionally, you were never all there. your partner leaves you because of it, and that tips you past the breaking point. even though you become a successful judge, the only way you’re satisfied is meddling in (and sabotaging) other people’s lives. whether it be in the courthouse or in the gossip chain, you delight in being able to control every aspect of life. well. ‘delight’ is a strong word. and when you’re left with a single child after a divorce, you can control every aspect of their life, too.

while some of your many siblings weren't a fan of your parents' aggressively green lifestyle, you found yourself falling in love with it every day. as a child, you waited patiently by the front door to welcome your parent back from work, eager to see new varieties of flora. as soon as you were able, your list of chores voluntarily expanded to taking care of your parents' massive back garden. while your parents encouraged you to take a modest job closer to home, you knew that you wanted to have a bigger effect on nature, beyond your childhood home. after accepting a job working in a conservation lab on-site, you pack up and move to sulani. the tropical air and frequent rain is good for both you and your plants, and you find yourself throwing yourself into your work and the thriving local community. life is good, and you feel fulfilled after a long, long history of over-achievers.
