actually i think we really need to introduce our allo friends to the depths of friendship.

I am not mad, for the record. But how exactly are we going to dethrone amatonormativity if we exclude alloromantic folk from weird and in depth friendships? I do understand that it can hurt, I have had so many peopke tell me they loe me for *checks notes* being a good friend. and baby that is horror to me.

But some people don't realize that they can have a friendship like that. Most allo people, I'd wager, don't realize they can have close and affectionate friendships.

Perhaps, instead of being the one who can't 'love normally', you can teach others about the beautiful shades of love. My best and closest friend is very allo, but I am one of the most important people in her life. Have you ever seen someone cry because they didn't know that they could have such an affectionate friendship? Because they know you love them unconditionally, platonically?

Maybe I'm just biased because she's awesome. but she's also everything. and being aro surrounded by allos can suck, but that doesn't mean you should discount the idea of extra close friendships with them entirely.

It is heartbreaking when someone judges you/turns you away because of how passionate you are about "just a friendship" but never let that get in the way of you loving them. They will either learn something new and beautiful, or they will miss out
