When I mentioned writing a character study for Court, I didn't mean to write it today instead of working on my main fic. But here we are apparently.

this is the fic if y'all want it

Every time he bleeds or gets cut it's plantlife that takes over and its not until cortlandgenwick John looks at him in front of claire and asks "do you think we need to like.... water him or whatver?" And they start to nourish the parts of simon that are like peeling fibrous birch bark that can be multipurpoused that they get that it's the eden sprout that took over and not the eel

I think tree Simon fits him a lot more because (I might be crazy for this) I think it also matches his fear response in the movie a lot more. Like, an animal has the ability to run, hide, fight and camouflage. A plant doesn't have that, at least not in the same capacity; a lot of stuff they can do to fight back is after they are already hurt. Simon is very similar in the submarine when he can't really run away and the only time he can really attack is when Simon takes out the teeth and still dies when he merged with the tree in the movie (much like how some plants evolved to be poisonous to ward of predators but they still die taking out the other animal)

The idea of Simon getting to be really happy is also a benefit. That and the idea of him being a tree allowing him to do fuck shit is so funny to me. A couple things along that vein: I want this man to photosynthesize, let him lay in the sun and heal like the sun intended. Also, you know how plants tend to grow better if you speak nicely and even sing to them? that, but it's just a lot more amplified. And if the tree's literally growing out of him, I think we should let it be able to touch the roots of other plants and they share nutrients. I think he should be able to do that.

No, the idea of them pouring water onto him and him just kind of absorbing it and giving a little smile about it fuels me.

OOHHH and with parts of the bark peeling off *rubs hands together like a fly* oh ho ho you're just giving me room for ideas here. So, we've already kind of talked about Claire and Simon bonding over Botany as a hobby, now It's Johns turn. I feel like occasionally there's just a really big chunk of bark/wood that gets pulled off of Simon -no it doesn't hurt him- that usually they'd just throw it away, but John gets really curious about what it could be used for. And using a knife tends to be similar enough no matter what you're using it for, so John picks up carving wood. (The first thing he ever properly carved out and was proud of was a knife for Claire, if you were wondering).

But yeahh I've been yapping but I really just love tree Simon <3

All fandoms end up getting crossed over with DC or more specifically Batman at some point (at least most of the time) and since Simon's already been put in the horror soup, I think we could put him in the Lazarus pits horror soup.

I mean, come on, IT'S LITTERALLY PERFECT it even has a name that would freak him out because of his religious upbringing. This being said however, the emotion that gets amplified by the pits would be FEAR (and maybe sadness), NOT anger.

I don't know if it's explicitly stated in the comics that the Lazarus pits only make rage stronger, okay. It might, but I'm also choosing to use ✨my own interpretation✨. Because I've always seen it as something that takes the biggest negative emotion someone has in a moment and make it a hundred times worse, regardless of what that emotion is. And the reason Jason was like that is because he a) died angry at the joker and b) was heavily influenced by Tahlia

My boy Simon's biggest emotion when he was in the submarine was the fear. He might have acted like he was angry but hey, that can be a fear response. The only thing he was really shown to be mad about was when someone was withholding information or lying because that just made the situation worse and added new things to be scared about.

I'm convinced that if he could have chosen it, he would have picked flight. Except there was nowhere to run because he was trapped in that stupid ass submarine.

Was this post really about me getting to talk about my son and his sad wet cat eyes? yes, yes, it was. But it is also me asking for someone, somewhere to write it. Someone gives that man a hug and some decent food. Maybe traumatize him a bit more by the hands of Ra's. And him trying to survive while not getting caught. And him throwing people off because the usual reaction to the pits IS rage, but apparently this sad wet cat is different. Y'know, the fun shit

I swear to God the chokehold that this fandom has on me is a problem. Because what the hell do you mean that we've only had the knowledge of Ryan Gosling being Ghost Rider for like 3 days and I'm already out here thinking 'man I bet I could write a coltand gentry au with it' and 'He could totally take them in after court handles their father' and 'well Colt could get his inspiration to be a stuntman from somewhere'.

Oh, and not only that, but while I was typing this, I just had to go and think of a Bloodymary concept to make this idea better. And you know what If I have to suffer with it, so do you:

So Imagine Grace brings Simon home for the first time to meet his family. Theres a solid chance that Simon went to prison or just barely missed it by the skin of his teeth, but he still blames himself for something Filament adjacent and the fact that he failed to stop it even if it wasn't his fault. And Grace has told him that he's not a bad guy and all of that, but it still hasn't quite registered.

When Grace brings him home Simon is scared shitless because he knew enough to understand that If Grace's family didn't like him, that might be the end of their relationship. So he walks in and finds Colt and Johnny (and maybe Court, I haven't figured out how he would fit into this) all starring at him.

This man is terrified of Grace and his intimidating ass family. And johnny walks forwards without breaking eye contact before he held out a hand and said "Simon, right? You seem like a good kid."

And Simon who hasn't really believed that he had good in him for years maybe sort of starts to believe that there could be.

ALRIGHT GANG so this might not be important to anyone else in this fandom but not only is Ryan Getting a Star Wars show but now he's also going to be in fucking MARVEL as ghost rider! that alone is enough to get me exited.

but tell me y'all: what Markiplier variants are we giving them? I feel we must continue the Bloodymarry tradition. I think that given the fact that it's star wars you could give that one to head engineer mark. But who are we giving to ghost rider???? decisions decisions

Okay! So I finally convinced myself that I should use this tumblr instead of creating a new blog for my fic.

Hello there👋 I’m the writer for a (non marvel adjacent) bloodymary superhero au called Evidence of Fascination! its taken me so long to make this post because I am, in fact, allergic to my social media being connected to another social media but here we are! I come bearing gifts because I took so long to do this so here have some memes:

can I get one crossover of project Hail Mary and call of duty? Like I know it might sound stupid but there is a madness to my method.

so we start around the time of Grace’s incident that gets him kicked out of academia. I’ve seen that it’s a semi popular head cannon that Soap is a demolition expert 💥 and I think that should (in theory) lead to a pretty good understanding of chemistry. We’re making the jump that he does have interest in science and does occasionally read up on different papers; specifically ones that seem to be a new take on certain things.

either he reads Grace’s paper when it was published because it caught his eye, or he saw him call a guy a ‘staggering waste of carbon’ and got really curious. Soap gets interested enough to reach out. If it’s before, Grace is just excited that people took notice of the paper that is basically his child. If it’s after, maybe he’s convinced that Soap is just being an ass but eventually comes around to note that he’s just a curious guy (he could have been drunk when he saw the first message and had to apologize for his exploding in the morning too.)

but they both slowly become friends over the science and it’s before Soap gets his team so they are kind of keeping each other sane for a while. Grace might not be in academia anymore but he still believes that he’s right, he just won’t fight as hard for his theory. Between a chemist and a microbiologist, they start to jokingly theorize how an alien could be built just as a way to keep em going sometimes. it’s been a running hobby between them for around two or three years by the time soap joins the task force. Soap isn’t breaking any rules when talking to Grace, but he’d still like to keep their friendship to himself because that friendship has gotten him through some difficult shit.

then Roach finds out about it. (I don’t see as much stuff for him but I like to believe he’s a field combat medic). He’s not going to snitch on soap, no. He just wants in on the conversation. They have an idea of how an alien could work on a certain scale, but not how full body systems could work out. When Roach finds out, he asked if he could join the conversation.

So now a duo became a trio. Then Gaz finds out about the conversation. Much like roach, he won’t snitch but hell if he doesn’t get to join the conversation. He starts to speculate on what the aliens could possibly look like based on what features the others have given. I have no reason for this one, I just think it would be fun.

then Ghost found out. And all four of them thought that he was going to snitch or cut them off, he’s still seen as the team hardass and they thought it was over. Only, instead of telling them to cut it out, he started talking about possible cultural customs that aliens could have and how it might very.

it’s not made into a big spectacle when Price found out. (And if he takes notes on who to call if et decided to do something other than phone home, that’s his own business).

Grace is not a part of the team, but he is their moral. He’s who they talk to when it gets hard and they need to focus on something that isn’t quite real. A few years down the line is when the astrophage sample is found. All of the sudden Grace, their joy boost, drops of the face of the earth. Even Lazwell is having trouble finding out where he went.

then they get a phone call from Eva Stratt. her leading scientist needs to attend a conference and she will be getting the best possible security. She’s thankful she had the foresight when some doomsday group tried to take him out.

Grace gets escorted into a car with Carl at the wheel, someone sitting shotgun, and four other guys sitting in the back of the limo. It’s quiet for the first few minutes, Grace literally could have died. And then someone -the guy with the Mohawk- asked “is now a bad time to share the most recent sketch of our species.” And Grace just recognized him off of those words alone.

and they promise to buy him a beer when he’s done with the project. Unfortunately, they can’t stay because they have a new mission to accomplish. They loose Soap and Grace in the same week.

Maybe the taskforce believes that he went up there willingly. That he wanted to save the earth but also to see if they were right about their theory's. Maybe he got the last-minute message goodbye that Soap had sent and he finally found someone to be brave for.

if Soap were still alive, he would have screamed to anyone that would listen that Grace wouldn't have gone willing. That, while the man loved space, there was no way he would have gone up there by choice and die somewhere lightyears away from home.

Lazwell is the only one who knew what happened to him. If it was a different day or a different life she would have. But she knew Eva, whether that be in passing or as an actual friend, it does not matter. She had the understanding that it was truly the only way they could have saved millions of people. And she knew that Eva was already the scapegoat no matter how much she loved the world and wanted to save it. Eva Stratt was a historian and knew what would happen to her, yet she did it all anyway. So, she kept it between her and a god she's not quite sure she believes in.

Okay so I was thinking about this concept that I may or may not write eventually at some point , but how do we feel about giving court the addiction he had in the books? I don't know why he'd be on painkillers (maybe a car crash or smth) but I'm curious to know that IF I wrote this fic if it's something y'all would want??? I also kind of want to use it as an excuse to have John take them to the continental

Also stupid little addition that you can imagine, if you will: "Did you just scruff Colt like he's a kitten?" "It's either that or a backpack leash and I've seen him slip those."

So I had a fic Idea (I have too damn many ideas related to project hail Mary but that's not relevant) but it would be the fic I work on in the background and plotting it would be a nightmare.

ANYWAYS heres the idea:

Court was 17 when he's able to tell that something was going to escalate. Maybe it was the smell of alcohol getting stronger or the eviction notice he found plastered onto the front. But he knew that if something terrible was going to happen, it would be soon.

So, he took Court and Colt and he ran. Maybe he took care of Mr. Gentry like he did in cannon and was better at hiding it, but that doesn't matter. What matters was the fact he took the beat-up car he had (he bought it for incredibly cheap and spent the last year and a half fixing it up) and stuffed anything important into the trunk

He's seventeen and living on the road as the sole caretakers of two boy's and he's trying his best he swears but he's also doing it alone and working odd jobs wherever he can find. It's hard but they were alive and safe. He made sure there was food when they wanted, warm clothes when it was cold, cold clothes when it was warm, and they were never alone. Like he always had.

They took a highway exit to some janky small town because the boys were hungry and Court just needed a break from all of the driving. They were only there for a few hours before they were about to be back on the road before they see someone passed out in a ditch covered in blood.

Court's been there, he knows that this person is probably only able to rely on himself. So, he stopped and provided medical help that he learned from years of living in that house.

A nineteen-year-old John Wick has only recently been shoved out into the real world from the Ruska Roma. He's good, but there's always someone older with more experience. He was aware that people like him died young, but it's different when you are the one laying in a ditch

Except he doesn't die when he thought he was going too because a tired blond with two kids pulled him out and forced him to stay living. And there must have been something too it because blondie offered him a ride to wherever he was going next; it wasn't like Court had any idea what direction to travel

He gave an answer, a place that it wouldn't be hard to get from there to the continental. Then he just. Doesn't get out of the car, and he doesn't get told to open the door and shut it behind him. So they keep traveling.

And John might not be the most open, might listen exponentially more than he talked, but he was good with the twins and he was a friend. And loath as Court was to admit it, he liked having someone in the passenger seat.

John gave locations, they would stay for about a week, and they would be on the road again. He always came back with more money, and Court didn't question it as long as they had gas in the tank and the boys were fed.

Court didn't react to the knowledge of Johns profession in the way he thought he probably should have. Yet in this economy, money was money. And John had talked about saving enough so they could have somewhere to stay that wasn't a motel or the car. So, John kept travelling with them

And maybe they finally get a place. One that's got a community college close by that Court attends after he gets a GED.

They meet Helena who looked at these two -who have basically been coparenting for a solid while- and goes: them, I want those two. It takes exponentially long for Court and John to realize what's going on.

Colt and Grace like the area, it's a got a good school and has a park down the street. And maybe, just maybe Grace managed to find two extroverted people who kidnapped him into friendship, named Adrian and Rocky. Give it a couple years and he might even meet a boy fresh out of a cult with a guardian by the name Ava.

Do we think that Court would tell John about Ryland and Colt? Because If I remember from watching the Wick movies a few weeks ago, John doesn't shy away from mentions of his wife. He doesn't start conversations (in general) but if someone mentions her, he'll still say something about it. But with Court, the only person he actually told about his family was out of necessity because it was either that or rescue Claire and Fitzroy without help.

And like, I don't really think John would see the twins and connect the dots because Six had a whole government agency after him and they couldn't figure it out. But maybe he does find out without Court and thinks that it's better left buried? Or he did only once and Court blew up about it?

Has anyone considered how they handle being attracted to each other, because I don't think either would have a healthy relationship with realizing they're gay.

Like Courtland was raised with the 'I'm going to make you into a man' mentality. I can guarantee you that if he even hinted at where his interests lay, it wouldn't have ended well for him. So even if Court hated Mr. Gentry and everything that the guy stood for and didn't believe any of it, that would stay ingrained in a way that would need therapy to at least begin to work it out. (and Court definently is not getting that as a Sierra)

For John there is, at the very least, a hint of the religion aspect? At least, I would assume so??? I don't really know enough about the Ruska Roma so I'm taking a few leaps here with what I have the vague knowledge of. Theres, at the very least, hints of religion spread through it ie. the very noticeable tattoo and the 'ticket' being a rosary. And I'd imagine that they wouldn't be teaching that it's okay to be gay in between assassin lessons.

And/or, with his relationship with Hellena, he gets confused because he doesn't know that liking multiple genders is an option? Like he might now that gay people exist but not there's more than that. He knows that his relationship with Helena was real because she meant everything to him. So why now was he feeling the same thing again if she was the only one he's loved before, and for a man this time?
