Tell me what I have to do, to convince you to read In memoriam by Alice Winn. There aren’t enough words in the English language to describe the depth and beauty of this magnificent piece of literature. I am so beautiful wreaked after reading this, I don’t think I will ever be the same. I cannot recommend this book enough, fair warning, it is heavy, lots of graphic details about war and death, but each character in this book is written so eloquently. I will forever treasure Sidney and Henry, my tortured poets ❤️
I’m half way through in memoriam and I’m SOBBING, I was already tearing at chapter 4 but it’s not a pretty little cry anymore!! HOW WILL I MOVE ON, I’m scared to read this on the tube tomorrow because I know I’ll continue SOBBING!!!! My heart is heavy omfg. CUT THE SHOW IM DONE

You know sometimes I’m filled with so much joy and hope from fiction that is disgustingly joyful and full of love that I start to wonder maybe it’s time to give reality a chance, and then do something stupid like download a dating app. Lasted 10 minutes folks, 10 minutes in and I realised it’s just best to stick to my joyful little fictional stories where love actually exists and not confuse that with real men.

Andy: grew up with absentee parents, always feels like a burden, constantly thinks he can never do anything right, doubts himself a hundred times a day on a hundred different things, MY BEAUTIFUL BAY BOY IS SO SOFT AND SWEET, he is everything!!! And then we have Nick: grew up with a shit head of a brother who used to beat him up, pulled himself together from nothing and works his ass of, is in a constant state of anxiety due to his queerness and is in perpetual fear of getting caught, has never been properly taken care of a day in his life, cannot fathom a world in which he will ever find love and settle down!!!!! I CANNOT EMPHASISE HOW MUCH I LOVE THESE TWO!! They are both my babies and I cannot stop thinking about them and their world. Seriously, go read we could be so good, I need to make this someone else’s problem 😭😭😭😭

An updated, I finished the book with fucking tears in my eyes, omfg it’s so good!!! I usually don’t like a friends to lovers trope or a grumpy x sunshine, BUT IT WAS SO WELL DONE!!! I loved both Nick and Andy, they’re everything to each other and now me omfg. Can’t. Recommend. This. Enough.
